Guest
(The following is asked with disregard to whether my speakers are capable of this or not.., they're probably not.) So, I used to have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 which claimed a max sample rate of 24-bit 92,000khz. It did some weird re-sampling thingy to achieve this and sound quality was said to be better 48,000khz. My current on board sound, on a fairly new motherboard years later seems to sound better and has more options (at least in Windows 7) than my Sound Blaster ever did. It claims a max output rate of 24-bit 192,000khz. Does anyone know if this is it's true capability or are we looking at an up-sampling scenario again? I know it's all very dependent on the audio source and the output too, I'm speaking purely from the perspective of the on board sound chip's capability. Thanks, Mark.
