Curiosity, the car-size, one-ton rover is bound for arrival on Mars at 1:31 a.m., EDT on Monday, Aug. 6.

The landing will mark the beginning of a two-year prime mission to investigate one of the most intriguing places on Mars.

I've been following the mission since early development around 2006 or so. Although I'm not gonna follow the landing feed live (too early on the 6th), you bet I'm gonna by dreaming about those 7 minutes of terror.

Make no mistake, it's one of the most important space missions ever. NASA's future will be resting on Curiosity's shoulder. It cannot fail.

I am staying up to see the live stream landing. I am curious to see what happens. Mars is the only planet in our solar system that may someday be able to sustain life and I believe Mars is the key to finding out what really happened in our solar system after the so-called big bang took place. How life in the Earth was created, etc. Mars is the key.
