I have LA Noire via Steam and I can confirm that it doesn't work on Windows 8 Pro x64 RP. As for RTM, well I will let you know when it's actually released!!!

I'm guessing it has more to do with driver issues than actual incompatibility.

This is all from RP but I guess it is still same in RTM because they haven't been updated.

Zune. Wifi sync with Windows Phone is sadly broken.

Live Mesh. Remote connections don't work

Flash. Terrible performance. Although might have to do with the ATI driver (or rather lack of it for my 4850).

Skype. Extreme CPU spikes during video calls.

avast! doesn't seem to work. Tried installing it, while it installed, the UI would never come up. each time i double clicked the icon, i would hear it starting, but gui never came up, and when i tried to right click and scan something, it would say that the UI wasn't loaded.

I did an upgrade on my Win 7 machine. The only thing that the installer suggested that I remove before the upgrade was Live Essentials. Everything worked after the upgrade (Steam, games, browsers, etc). Even all my file sharing still worked. I couldn't be happier.

Don't install a second antivirus program in Windows 8. Actually, you shouldn't really need 2 antivirus programs in any OS. Windows 8 comes with Defender built in.

For me, BeJeweled 3 doesn't run at all. It installs fine, but when I click the icon I see the wait cursor briefly, then nothing. Trying it in Compatibility mode for Windows 7 doesn't work either. No combination of things allows it to run at all.

Win8 will deactivate Defender if you install a new AV. But I would wait for Win8 support first.

Also two issues that I can testify affected the Previews (DX11 in Crysis 2, and compatibility issues involving TERA Online) were both fixed in RTM.

I run Bejeweled 3 and Bejeweled Blitz in Windows 8 without issues; however, as opposed to upgrading, I did a completely-clean install of 8 (Pro x64) and games/applications.

I initially had an issue getting Batman Arkham City to work on Windows 8 until I discovered it was just an issue with the Games for Windows Live client bundled with the game being out of date. Installing the version that comes with Microsoft Flight sorted it all out and Batman Arkham City now works perfectly,

Hey I did too. That's really weird. What's going on I wonder.

I can't get Halo 2 to work...tried reinstalling and applying patches...tried reinstalling the Games for Windows Live client, but nothing worked.

Get a later version of GfWL client and try that.... the older versions (the one that comes with Batman Arkham City included, so definitely the one in Halo 2) do not work on Windows 8. Link on the thread below... worked for me :)

That might help you guys find out if apps work or not.

I've not had any trouble with any application or game not working.

Their site is a joke. You'll get lots of "compatible" listings but nothing that mentions if the product is 100% working, ie. all the functionality of a G9x mouse or a gaming keyboard. Site relies on end user input and there isn't much of that.

    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.

    • Or use Epic games and get full games for free. lol Steam and their demos. Thankfully there’s competition
    • Maybe I missed it, but does this say anywhere that the game save bug has been squashed? I haven't encountered it myself, but it would be nice to know I'm good to go. Anyway, amazingly well done game. Mostly more of the same. ...but when the same is best in class with improved graphics and features, then a win.
    • Well when your game flops, you should expect this. If I do bad at work, I would expect a layoff. Less than 1600 people played it on steam. https://steamdb.info/app/1934570/charts/
