Eh? GMG keys were already handed out, my friend got his last night at least.

hmm, wonder whats going on there.

I probably won't have it til tomorrow or the next day or sommat with my connection.

There are plenty of people without keys, like me. Their forums keep crashing from people voicing their displeasure.

Where's the HD texture pack on Steam? When I click on the DLC page, I only get "There is no downloadable content available for this game.".

edit: Never mind. It was region locked. When logged on with a US VPN connection to unlock the game a bit earlier, the hd resolution pack was available under dlc page.

Kinda stupid to region lock a free DLC on Steam, especially when the game itself isn't locked to the region :/

Played this baby for about six hours straight. The only thing that stopped me, was this happening: http://i.imgur.com/jwYNo.jpg

Restarting the game I found out there's an 1.3gb patch avaible, so hopefully that it will fix that.

But other than that, I have no complaints. Game is extremely good, with nice story, solid gameplay and nice visuals to come with that. Enjoying it far more than I enjoyed GTA IV and its expansions.

Is it me, or is the hand to hand combat initially really damn hard? I just started playing the game, and I am on the first real mission after being shown your apartment where you have to fight some Dogeyes or whatever they are called at some Warehouse, and seriously I just keep dying. Was I supposed to do other missions prior to taking on the real mission?

Also have to say it is really messing me up driving on the other side of the road.

So far really digging it though.

Just an update, I was just a little impatient with the hand to hand combat. Settled down a bit, and took out the guys pretty easily.

Really is a pretty damn good game overall. My one and only complaint so far is the draw distance does not seem to be the greatest, but wondering if this is just how the consoles can handle the game itself.

It sure will be.

The only open world game I've ever seen on a console with good draw distance is Just Cause 2, but that's because it's very simple in regards to "towns/cities".

I think Infamous' draw distance is pretty good overall.

Honestly this may in fact be the worst draw distance I have seen on an open world game ever. It does not totally ruin the experience, but does break it some.

I still have problems with the drug dealers, but that's it. So I run them over with my car before engaging hand to hand

I'm quite pleased with the experience I've had after a few hours of gaming, I've gotten easier into it than I got into GTA IV, which took quite a while.

I like the fighting quite a lot especially the enviromental takedowns, the only let down so far is the driving. The handling isn't feeling as good as it could have, but I'm getting used to it.

Im playing it on the PS3 and it's an amazing game like you said, and yes the driving isnt the best, I also found the camera while driving does some weird things too.

I've finally sat down and had a proper session on the game and i just love it. I'm really enjoying the story, although i've been pre-occupied with side missions. The way it is going, it is going to get much worse for Wei i think.

I've finally got to grips with the melee combat. Once you learn the types of fighter, you get along with it much easier as you plan how to attack someone. Running and throwing someone off a bridge/cliff never gets old.

I agree with everyone on above, the driving is a bit naff. The driving reminds me of Saints Row.

I also really like when you complete a certain mission it can sometimes unlock collectibles on the map. At the moment i have the locations for Jade Statues and health shrines.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
