Lawsuit against Rockstar Games

LMFAO! how stupid can you be? f them man. money won't bring their stupid loved ones back. i give no respect to them because they're just money hungry a-holes. i hope those kids get sentenced to death so i can **** on their graves. i'll just say i got the idea from postal 2

Postal 2 rocks

Not exactly related but :

Here in Greenville SC a mother of a 2yr old girl thought it would be ok to leave her unsupervised outside while she got ready for work.

The little girl got mauled by the neighbor's dogs and is now dead. The mother claims "I was only away for 2 minutes."

Now here is the kicker : the dog owners are facing charges not the mother of the child for neglect.

Its a very sad, sad society when you cannot assume responsibility for your own bad judgement.

The details of how the dogs got to the child are irrelevant.

A 2 year old child should never be unsupervised and that is just plain common sense.

How can any rational/logical person assume a 2yr old can take care of themselves for any length of time?

Sure the mother used bad judgement to leave the child unsupervised, but her child was mauled by a dog. Even if she was wrong to leave the child alone, the mother still has a right to sue. Also, keep in mind that the only way the mother of the child can be sued is through the state. The owners of the dog cannot sue the mother, because the owners of the dog were not recipients of any damage; however, they can file a counter claim stating that had it not been for the mother's neglect, the accident would more than likely not have taken place. This counter claim would more than likely, if found to be true, would put at least half the guilt on the mother where it rightly belongs.

Of course it can get even deeper especially if the dog was supposed to be collared, if the child was left in a closed/open area, etc...

I'm sure justice will be done...

Agreed...

Also, back to the MAIN topic of rockstar games.....I think it would be funny for them to get the pants sued off of them. So hahaha.. I have like that games but have never been a big fan of the games :p

Plus wal-mart and all the other partners or whatever would have their ear chewed off, so the results are much more interesting! heh

"We want to send a message with a huge verdict to Sony and TAKE2interactive and the entire video game industry that if they're going to continue to market adult-rated games to children with these horrific consequence, then we're going to take their blood money from them and send a message to their boards that they have to stop this practice or there will be other suits on behalf of other people, killed by these games," Thompson said

This lawsuit will not go anywhere. Even if they do deem that video games cause this kind of behavior in children, they still have to prove that the developers of these games are "marketing adult-rated games to children". They're not. Plain and simple, Rockstar/Sony/Take2 has never and never will market any of their M rated games to children. That's why the ESRB was set up. These kids should not have played this game in the first place.

But still, someone should pay for this and other crimes like it. I know, how about the negligent parents who let their kids buy this game (or buy it for them), and let them play it until they start convincing themselves it's real. These being the same parents that keep shotguns and ammunition in an unsecure area of their house where the kids can easily find and load them, and then leave the house with these guns without any intervention from the parents at all.

If any charges are put forth, I think it should be criminal negligence causing homicide on the part of the parents. But, if they're charged, the families of the victims of this crime won't get anything except for the comfort of knowing that maybe this will send a message out to other parents to watch/know what your kids are doing every once in a while and talk to them. But, then again, that won't exactly buy that oceanside condo they're looking for so it'd be much better if they go ahead and sue the game makers.

This lawsuit ranks right up there with those people suing McDonalds (and other fast food joints) for making them fat. Bottom line, if you can't be a good parent just sue somebody with a lot of money, and blame them for you inability to raise your children properly. There are also ratings on the games, yes when it rated Mature, and your kids arn't mature enough to tell right from wrong DON'T BUY THEM THE ****ING GAME!!!!

?There is no credible evidence that violent games lead to violent behavior,? he said. ?While video games may provide a simple excuse for the teenagers involved in this incident, responsibility for violent acts belongs to those who commit them.?

Actually, there's proof that violent video games can lead to violent bin generaleral... however, the problem is that you can't apply that on individual cases.

Also, game ratings are just a lure... the parents don't always buy the game for their kids knowing it's "rated mature." A 14-year old can often just walk into the store and buy it himself without getting stopped b/c of the game's rating.

Two days ago I went to the store and bought Fifa 2004, while I was waiting there was a mother buying a game (I don't remember which one) for her son (about 12 years old), I heard when the salesperson told her that the game was rated "Mature," that it contained, drugs, violence and sexual content... Did she care one bit? she just said "no problem" and bought it just the same.

Stupid parents, they should be penalized.

Also stupid kids, I remember when was ten I wasn't going out to kick or kill people because I saw it in some movie or video game, today's laws, specially in the United States make it easy to bring stupid lawsuits.

    • It's about to become harder to turn off your Samsung TV, thanks to Instagram by Aditya Tiwari Meta announced that its Instagram for TV app has arrived on Samsung TVs in the US as part of its latest expansion, giving users one more way to scroll through Reels. The social media giant often comes under scrutiny for the "addictiveness" of its features, which leads people to spend excessive time on the platform. Interestingly, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri described spending 16 hours on the platform as "problematic use" but not "clinical addiction." Mosseri also compared scrolling on Instagram to binge-watching a show on Netflix. Instagram for TV is now available on Samsung TV models released in 2020 or later. The app is already available on Amazon Fire TV and Google TV in the US, which together account for the majority of connected TV devices. The company said it will test several new features to improve the living room and family experience while using Instagram on the big screen. Watching vertical videos on a big screen isn't something many would be excited about. Probably that's why Meta is testing a dedicated home for horizontal videos. Creators will get the opportunity to design content for TV screens and get more ways to reach audiences, according to Meta. If you found an interesting Reel while doomscrolling on your phone, you'll be able to cast it to your TV. The feature is available for testing on Instagram for TV on Google TV and Amazon Fire TV, and it will also support videos from the Saved tab. Instagram for TV will be testing Channels organized around user interests, across genres such as comedy and sports, as well as content from favorite creators. Moreover, you can watch Stories on your TV. While Instagram is known for short-form videos, it's knocking on more doors to keep the audience hooked. The company said it's exploring new content formats for the big screen, including long-form creator content to cover topics in detail, episodic series to build suspense across multiple episodes, and creator live sessions on TV. All of the new updates put Instagram in competition with established giants like YouTube (and Netflix), which already have a robust presence on the big screen. In recent updates, Instagram added the ability to write an individual caption for each carousel image, manually re-order posts, and a paid version of the app.
    • I know RAM and storage prices are high right now, but I think it would have been better to have 1TB as the base level storage, especially as it's supposed to be for gaming. Plus a 2.5gbe ethernet port rather than only 1gbe.
    • I have installed the debloated version of Windows 11 25H2 Pro. I obtained the apps from store.rg-adguard.net. The size of the Photos app window is quite problematic for me; it consistently displays in a 16:9 aspect ratio, resembling a movie theatre screen, and cant remeber its last size and position. The Snipping Tool cannot capture the taskbar. When I select "Window" in capture mode, it allows me to capture menus or individual windows, but I am unable to capture just the taskbar. This functionality was available in version 24! I am on the same version numbers (latesst).
    • I'm already seeing my steam library, still swallowing the 16 Gb of RAM, then looking at the SD storage expansion and saying "what?".
