JustGeorge
So I installed Virtualbox in Windows 7 and proceeded to create a Fedora 17 guest OS. The OS is installed and working fine except that even after installing virtualbox guest additions, some 3d effects cannot be enabled. I'm unable to enable the desktop cube, cube animation and blur effects. I got no errors during the install process and accelleration appears to be working as I now have full screen view and everything is smoother. These effects work fine if the OS is running native, btw. OpenSUSE has the same issue when installed as a guest. Is this just normal or did I miss something during the process?
Eric Veteran Posted August 22, 2012 Veteran Share Posted August 22, 2012 As far as I can recall the 3D interface in Virtualbox is only for Windows guest OSes.

Incorrect. 3D is supported in VBox as long as you install the supplied guest additions. You might be thinking about VMWare.
