Jon Jones will not be facing Lyoto Machida at UFC 152 after all.

Instead, Vitor Belfort will fight Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title on Sept. 22 in Toronto. UFC president Dana White confirmed the change late Thursday night.

According to White, Machida turned down the title shot on Thursday. Belfort volunteered to fight Jones on one month's notice and was granted the title shot by the promotion.

because supposedly he did and then he went on Twitter to refute those claims

No, the tweet was from May 2010. Way before he was the UFC champion. People were just calling him out on it because... "never" apparently doesn't mean "never" as it should. When this card is really FINAL, I'll post a write-up.

oh yeah, my bad

The card sucked in the first place, I was going to look for stream only during the main event, and I watch everything usually.

The biggest suck piece is Machida loosing his #1 contender spot. Yes I'm a fan but Dana is evolving into an Arumhole.

Machida was already jumping ahead of Dan Henderson if he took the UFC 152 fight. Seeing how he didn't, Dan is still next and Machida will need to keep active in the meanwhile. A single win over Ryan Bader does not a #1 contender make. So, in the long run, it's better for him to pick up at least another win to legitimize his title shot, seeing how he was fighting Jon Jones due to there being no one else with name value willing.

Heres hoping Dan is still next though. And maybe thats Dana reasoning and making excuses. Machida vs Gustafsen (sp?) would be choice imo.

Gustafsson is fighting Shogun next. Machida could fight the winner of Rampage vs Glover Teixeira, Hamill vs Matyushenko, or Lil' Nog (if he's still competing). Not very big names but the only ones available. A 2 fight win streak is still much better than a single fight win before a title shot like what happened before.

The full card is:

Facebook Prelims ()

Kyle Noke vs. Charlie Brenneman

Mitch Gagnon vs. Walel Watson

Seth Baczynski vs. Simeon Thoresen

FX Prelims ( :/)

Jimy Hettes vs. Marcus Brimage

Sean Pierson vs. Lance Benoist

TJ Grant vs. Evan Dunham

Igor Pokrajac vs. Vinny Magalh?es

Main Card ()

Cub Swanson vs. Charles Oliveira

Matt Hamill vs. Roger Hollett

Michael Bisping vs. Brian Stann

Joseph Benavidez vs. Demetrious Johnson

Jon Jones vs. Vitor Belfort

Fighter to watch out for: Jimy Hettes. He's a top FW prospect and I think his fight with Brimage is a HUGE mismatch, seeing how Brimage is very one-dimensional and not even very good at that dimension. The Swanson vs Oliveira fight is also make it or break it for both guys, winner will be on the road to a title shot in 2013. Jones vs Belfort for me is going to be like Dos Santos vs Mir: competitive on paper (Vitor is very muscular and probably cuts down from 210 to 185, so 205 shouldn't hurt him much if at all) but it's probably going to be a blowout due to several factors such as reach, power, wrestling ability and Vitor's classic lack of consistency. And, Joe Silva, if you're reading this, scrap Maur?cio Rua vs Alexander Gustafsson and have him fight Glover Teixeira. It's a better fight for the LHW division overall. Just have Rua tangle with Thiago Silva or give him Rampage like it was originally planed.

Hope Bones gets knocked the **** out, seriously.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no.

Belfort's wins at MW have been Fat Rumble and Yoshihiro Akiyama, guys who now fight at LHW and WW, respectively. He doesn't hold an advantage in any area over Bones, who has beaten LHW that are way above Belfort's MW peak skill. What does a short notice swollen up 35 year old MW have that a full camp Evans, Machida, Rampage and Shogun didn't? Nothing. It just won't happen.

    • I think the car analogy is more this: Left hand drive, basic commands on the left side of the infotainment screen. Right hand drive, basic commands on the right side of the infotainment screen. Granted, you're not swapping between the two often so it's doesn't really work. But it's to do with the proximity of you (your mouse, or the driver) to the controls.
    • I mean, the old one was broken and so stupidly complex for many users, so I don't see that as a feasible option. A context menu needs to be simple to use, and for me the Windows 11 style actually worked really well for me, and many others. I used to have to scroll the damn context menu just to get to "file properties" in Windows 10. That was not a good experience, and I'm sure you'd agree. What they're trying to do is make it the best of both worlds, as clearly you'd prefer the Win10 style. I'm curious how they're going to do this.
    • The "Show more options" has its place, as does the simpler context menu, but it should perhaps be a separate fly-out rather than relaunching the entire, old context menu. The old context menu was getting absurd in Windows 10. Often I'd have to make the context menu scroll just to get to "File properties" on my old laptop. Even without much installed, the amount of items was just too much. It's a context menu, not a "do all" menu. Making it configurable is fraught with challenges too, so I'm interested to see how Microsoft tackles this one.
    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
