Delayed yet again (only by a couple of weeks this time, mind).

Slightly Mad Studios and BANDAI NAMCO Games Europe S.A.S today confirmed that Project CARS will be available for PlayStation

Haven't been following this, will CARS feature car damage?

Yeah, it's got both cosmetic and mechanical damage, but it is on the soft side - especially the cosmetic damage - as this comparison with BeamNG.drive shows...

wow, imma have to try that BNG, sucks it doesn't have real names though :p

So, is this really going to be better the Gran Turismo and Forza?

(maybe too early to ask , but people have being playing beta, no?

In terms of gameplay, I think it already runs rings around both of them (especially Forza). It's not the best all-around, though; Assetto Corsa has better physics, for example. Graphics-wise, it's usually compared with Driveclub, and it's close there, but I think pCARS still comes out on top (provided it's dry; Driveclub's rain effects are pretty amazing).

Gameplay, Forza runs rings around this game (not to mention, RacePro does as well). Not even sure GT is a contender anymore though. Sadly, the SHIFT physics in this game is dramatically holding it back. But I haven't played the latest available builds, so hopefully they have gone back to the drawing board there.

Oh, and DELAYED AGAIN.

http://www.vg247.com/2015/03/11/project-cars-sees-another-release-delay-now-slated-for-may/

I am buying it day one, even if it was released early. Got to get my racing fetish on.

I think I'm being overly cynical here but... if the content is there to be given... why isn't that content just already part of the game anyway?

This is just another game in a long list I'm slowly becoming less interested in because of the never ending delays. I'd rather have a more complete, working game released day one, but there is a few games that I was hyped for around launch of the XB1. A year and a bit on, I've just gone a bit meh on this and others :(

I know, I hate it too. Worst case scenario, it's probably just one of the pieces of content they offered up with the limited edition; probably the Modified Car Pack.

Funding it through WMD means I'm getting the limited edition content for free, anyway (as well as hopefully a decent "share of the game's sales returns", provided it sells well), so if they offer up something new instead, then bonus.

Specifications are out.

Minimum spec:

  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 260/AMD Radeon HD 5770
  • Memory: 4GB RAM, 1GB VRAM

Recommended spec:
  • CPU: 3.5GHz Intel Core i7 3700/4.0 GHz AMD FX-8350
  • Graphics: Nvidia GT600 series/AMD Radeon HD7000 series
  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 2GB VRAM

Graphics-wise, it's gonna be 1080p & 60fps on the PS4, 900p & 60fps on the Xbone, no word on the Wii U yet, and up to 12K resolution (sort of; it's actually three 4K monitors together, so 12K width, but not height) on the PC.

As for gameplay, here's the maximum number of players...

  • 45 offline (depending on the grid size of the track) on all platforms
  • 16 online on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and 32-bit PC
  • 32 online on 64-bit PC

Got the non ghosting Xbox One version. So excited to play!!

How is it?

I was quite excited about this for a while, but its taken so long its now on F1 2015's door step I just don't think I'll play this after F1 is released so its made me not want to buy it :(

This game looks interesting but I was disappointed to learn about AMD cards getting very poor performance. A GeForce GTX 770 should never outperform a Radeon R9 290X. Those cards aren't even in the same performance category.

Yeah, that's AMD's fault for not contacting SMS as often as NVIDIA did. They are on the case now, at least, so things should improve soon. Ian Bell addressed it all...

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates.
