AdamKnowles
Ok, i have been trying to modd the Computer Lock Screen on windows xp (Classic Style) and the start menu verticle image. I have edited to msgina.dll and the eplorer.exe files i save them with the modifications but when i open them up again the image has turned back to it's original state. Can anyone help me, am i doing somthing wrong? I am logged in as the admin on the computer. Thanks _adam :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/110357-problems-customizing-using-res-hacker/ Share on other sites
dougkinzinger
it's the DLLCache kicking in (c:\windows\system32\dllcache). Delete or rename the file you want to edit within DLLCache, then click Cancel when it asks for your Windows XP cd. Finally, edit your file (not the one in dllcache) and try it again. AdamKnowles
Mm, Sorry about this but i am still having problems. I deleted the files that i was going to be editing in the dllcache folder, except the problem is still there. I replace the file in the windows folder with the edited one, i reboot. But the old images are still there. This is getting quite frustrating. I don't understand what i am doing wrong. Could there be anything else in the way?
