DELTA75329
I'm shopping for a new HSF as well... Does anyone know how the Vantec AeroFlow compares to the Zalman CNPS-7000A-Cu? I can't decide between the two. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/110546-which-cpu-cooler-is-the-best/page/2/#findComment-1312000 Share on other sites
enigma-penguin Veteran Posted October 30, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 30, 2003 the zalman is all copper.... it would condcut heat better... i would go the zalman if you can afford it Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/110546-which-cpu-cooler-is-the-best/page/2/#findComment-1312140 Share on other sites

isus
interesting to note that no one uses swiftech. i have an mcx462+. it works so wonderfully... it has a huge copper base, and lots of helicoids (eww, new vocab... it means, high thermal conductivity, specially designed, aluminum rods ;) ) i have a 2500+ (1.83ghz) oc'ed to 2256mhz at 37C... i would go higher, but my multipliers don't work at as they should at 14 and 15x, and my fsb is already high enough, 180 for a 166mhz cpu... the ram is 166mhz (pc2700/333mhz ddr) and i don't wanna destroy that either. plus, the northbridge itself is quite warm :-X but i will solve the northbridge problems with one of swiftech's chipset coolers ;) it matches my cpu heatsink :-P Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/110546-which-cpu-cooler-is-the-best/page/2/#findComment-1312203 Share on other sites

Samoa
Thermalright SLK seriesOthers are just paper weights :p You must be smoking your sister's underwear, AGAIN... :p J/K The Vantec Aeroflow is much like how the 2500 Barton is, the best one for the money. Both do an outstanding job, where the Vantec can keep your cpu temps under 40C, and the 2500 can easily be the 3200. ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/110546-which-cpu-cooler-is-the-best/page/2/#findComment-1312677 Share on other sites
Garrett Socling
The stock Barton HS that comes with the retail package is acceptable...it is very quiet and does a passible job... However, a $7 speeze is just as quiet, runs about 500RPM slower and cools better... Shame I didn't realise how bad the stock HS sucked or I would have saved the five bucks and got the OEM model...considering using a non-stock HS voids the manufacturers warranty... Just what sort of case/processor temps are we talking about with these flashy high-end heatsinks? Considering I think the Speeze is a big step up from my old coolermaster, anything that costs more than $10 is flashy and high-end... I got 68'F/106.8'F (20'C/42'C) full load right now with the stock heatsink (what a b*tch to get on...). I got about two or three 'F lower with the speeze...and that was before I realized I forgot to change the voltage from 1.75 to 1.65...(palamino to barton). I think I am going speezey again... I am very interested in what performance real-world people are getting. AnalogRival
I'm using a CoolerMaster Aero7+, all copper HS and nice quiet fan, I've NEVER gone higher that 43C even when my room is hot as hell. I'm guessing I may run even cooler if I got some AS3 paste. kak
I've got the SLK 947U with a sunon 80mm fan and i've only seen my cpu go to about 102F after playing a game. Only thing that makes it go above that is the inconsistent room temperature (dorm heating). -- Shame I didn't realise how bad the stock HS sucked or I would have saved the five bucks and got the OEM model...considering using a non-stock HS voids the manufacturers warranty... How are they going to know if you used a non-stock heatsink? Twisted Maniac
peltier!!! u gonna add an extra psu for that? :p u know the rule right? :p how more Watts a peltier gets the colder it gets.....and u better isolate your proc then :p i was thinkin of peltier but.....18 degrees is fine to :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/110546-which-cpu-cooler-is-the-best/page/2/#findComment-1320777 Share on other sites
wizbit
to run a 266Watt peltier you would definitely have to run a 2nd power supply. You also have to be able to dissipate 266watts plus the 70 or 80 Watts of CPU heat, so thats like 330Watts or there abouts. I personally went for water cooling (maze3 waterblock) cos it cheap and very quiet - the noisiest thing in my PC is the HDD !! :p Oh and my CPU temperature is 28 - 33 degrees C.
