Good sensor, fast capture, point-and-shoot camera with Bluetooth?

Recommended Posts

My camera just broke and besides it being old and using a xD memory card, I want to replace it.

This is a BUDGET camera so no SLRs or anything but with a decent sensor.

Id perfer a common memory type that is easy to find.

I like to take some close up shots sometimes and I find that this camera has trouble doing it and it comes out shaky.

Fast capture: When I hit that camera button, it takes the picture. No delay.

Bluetooth. While it may seem idiotic, I can take a picture, quickly transfer it to my phone (which has WiFi and/or data access), and upload it on the internet because camera phone pictures truely suck.

Again, budget. I dont want to spend much on this.

Thank you

I use a Canon ELPH 300 HS for a point and shoot.. I picked it up for $130 a year ago; it goes for about $200 now. I think the newer model is the 310 HS, however its lens is only 28mm at wide (which kind of sucks). No blue-tooth, however you can use those Wi-Fi Eye-Fi SD cards for what you want to do with photo transfers.

Doesnt work with wifi and/or much more dificult. Bluetooth, although slower, will get the job done.

To be honest I have never, ever, ever seen a camera that supports Bluetooth.

What I do is just connect my camera over USB. If your phone supports USB-on-the-go you can just access all files from your camera straight from your Android phone.

There are two phones that might interest you: the Samsung Galaxy Camera (to be released in Q4) and the Nikon Coolpix S800c. Both run Android and with the right software you can just Bluetooth your pictures through. Both are great cameras as well, but neither is cheap.

Remember you're asking a lot of features for very little money. A good camera costs a lot, it's as simple as that. The fact that you want an exotic and probably nonexistent feature like Bluetooth only makes it harder. These two above are basically cameras with a smartphone embedded.

You're not going to find a whole lot of point and shoots with bluetooth.

Well, just last month I could have sworn I walked in a store and was just surprised on how much had Bluetooth and/or Wifi

I guess you'll have to go back to that store and check out what they have

Edit: This list doesn't seem accurate... The lumix dmc-fs42 doesn't seem to have bluetooth. Doesn't look like there are many camera's with bluetooth.

    • No, it doesn't, but I'm sure you don't just mean compile when you say compile.
