Well while we're all having fun with this new theme I thought I'd post a shot of my desktop now that I've finished tweaking around with xp and the slate theme.. can't wait to play with the final version, great job Windows X :)

How did you make your taskbar transparent?

:D and they said "you cant make the taskbar tansparent, thats foolish" but the brilliance of this taskbar fader thing, makes it soo possable, horray! :D :D :D

but, ok, so it can be dun with the taskbar, but can it be dun with the windows? hmmm? :huh:

Nope. Sorry its not quite done. It seems Windows X is just putting the final touches on now.

Note Glass2k makes all windows transparent. This is nuts man.

okay a very stupid question but why don't you make a theme like this, it sure looks better than slate... :huh:

does anyone have a standalone version of the default black 4051 logon for XP for 1280x1024? i cant find it anywhere! :(

Useful? Useless? Either way, here's all the bitmaps pulled from the Slate.msstyles posted earlier. And FYI, the .msstyles won't work with XP because the layout of the file is completely different from the XP .msstyles standard, go figure. ;)

How did you make your taskbar transparent?

I was using the Nvidia nView Desktop Manager that runs with my Ti4200 card for the transparency.. You can make anything ya want transparent but I don't use the transparency at all really because it's cool for an hour and then it just gets old quick, but it looks good for screenshots :D The sidebar is SmartbarXP using a slate skin I made and a custom clock I made from what I could see in an AERO screenshot posted last night.

I believe it has the buttons disabled in the WMP control, and using the WMP control methods and properties with custom buttons for control.

yay i recieved my copy of longhorn! what do i do now? :blink: haha. well i just hope its better than the last few theres been. the new slate theme, well i think its OKAY. but what i really like is the explorer toolbar buttons, they're shnazzy.

Thats just a skin I made from the actual media player tile from longhorn 4015 I think it was.. SmartbarXP lets you skin the media player as well and so I got the idea to make the whole thing look as close as I could to the real sidebar so I spent forever trying to make a skin to look like the real one and that actually worked and thats the result.
