how do u get the longhorn sidebar in slate?

There are many ways:

1. SmartBarXP has skins. Someone in this thread did their own Slate one, PM them for it.

2. Windows X might be working on an HTML sidebar that you can put on Active Desktop.

3. I'm working on an extensible 100% managed Slate sidebar. :)

Edit: Get the SmartBarXP theme from Illusion456.

i would bu i cant afford it at the mo.

what is windows 200? is it a business version of xp?

its the operating system that came after windows 98 that was the start of ms's doing away with the 98 kernel and all of its corrupt hell. its built on the nt kernel, and its quite nice. id still go for xp. i mean, just walk into the store and steal it if you have to.... not that i did that or anything...

Windows 2000 was a business version of Windows 98 and ME. Windows 2000 had a different kernel (the NT kernel) than Windows 98 and ME (the 9x kernel). Windows 2000 was often more reliable than Windows 98 and ME.

Microsoft decided to merge the two product lines together with Windows XP. Windows XP Professional is the version after Windows 2000, while Windows XP Home is Windows XP Professional with many features that home users might not use.

If you are contemplating between Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional, get Windows XP Professional. If you are contemplating between Windows XP Home and Windows 2000 Professional, get Windows XP Home.

My OS recommendation is Windows XP Home for you.

ok...how do I change the shell32.dll?

you dont need to tweak shell32 to do that !! look back a few pages for my post about people who use Y'z Toolbar .. and while im on the subject go downlaod it from here

http://www.designtechnika.com/main/modules...action=cat&id=3

and while your there look at some of the toobar themes that they have there .. then go to my site (see link in signature) and look in the extras section for the Longhorn Aero Y'z Toolbar theme!
