three questions for you Windows X :)

Is the Longhorn 4 transformation pack out yet or is 4.1 the next release ?

The side bar in your slate PDC vs, Windows X .. how do I activate it ?

(I currently use smartbar XP ... still configuring it though ...)

Can I add stuff to your sidebar like I can with smartbarXP such as news tickers ..etc ?

:D

1. 4.0 is not release yet so no 4.1

2. You can do it by install Longhorn SideBar 3.0 which release before Longhorn Transformation Pack 4.0

3. It doesn't meant anything to hide because it already fit with 800x600 and SmartBar XP consume so much for RAM so I make the smallest SideBar consuming.

hey tai what skin is that for smartbar?

can u post it please

Hi Winston ... heres the skins page for SmartbarXP ... at

http://www.smartbarxp.com/themes/themesindex.htm

the first 2 skins .. the Longhorn Clock and the Longhorn4051.zip [sidebar] are the ones I'm using :)

This thread seems to be getting a surprising amount of attention...

As far as strict port accuracy goes, this is a very good theme, but I myself never found it to be too attractive... Didn't think so many people did.

Anyhow, very nice work, this is a very accurate port, if I was a fan of the theme I couldn't have asked for better.

Windows X,

Could you make a deactivate_pdc.reg for me? I used the normal deactivate and it just changed the toolbars back to normal. I took off the slate pdc theme and switched back to the normal Windows XP Luna msstyle and now there are bugs in the toolbar when a window is maximized. Could you just make a restore .reg that returns the registry tweaks to the normal ones that came with xp?

Thanks in advance.

erm nope. Not completely accurate. Some of the colours are actually wrong in this version. (double checked with my own installation of the REAL Longhorn 4051 build) Some colours in the visual style are a little wrong.

To be honest, this is such a good import of the Slate theme - if you never seen the REAL LH, you wouldn't even no the difference where colours are concerned with the dialog boxes and that.

Still say this is a great import regardless. its very nearly accurate, is what I will say. :D

Cat.

I'm currently working on an emulation of the IE version in Longhorn. :) I'll also work on the sidebar. When I'm done with that, I'll work on an emulation of the Longhorn Windows Explorer, then an XAML/Avalon parser, then bundle it all together as "Longhorn for Windows".

Yep this caught my attention too. Sounds interesting :D

Question: How did you get the "common tasks" bar to be on the top, rather than the side?

A little creative tweaking to the shellstyle.dll .. the next thing to do will be to get the taskpane to resize horizontaly too so the window size isnt always changing .. then ill be interested in those cute tweaked horizontal shellstyles :)

Duh .. im so damanding .. i think i know how to get those panes to resize horizontally .. ill have to play around with it and see :)

First off: Windows X, your work is excellent and much appreciated. (P.S. I wish you would put screenshots on your site for each of the transformation packs.) :D

Next: I desperately want that horizontal tasklist. Come on, spill the beans. How can I get it?

Thanx in advance guys.
