Ah, Listverse. We have dismissed that claim. *cough* I mean, a good read at times, for certain topics that don't involve Korean culture and dishes *cough*

I'd strongly disagree about Grand Theft Auto. Yes, mechanics stay the same, but it isn't the point of the game. What it does is combine tens of games in one package, put in a huge playground. And the hefty doses of crude, pitch black, "nothing is sacred" humor of Houser & Co are priceless. It is, in fact, the most underpriced game of all time, by the insane amount of content it provides. Its radio stations alone are worth more than half of youtube.

I'd kind of agree about Skyrim, with a note that it's a strictly personal preference. It's openness is the best and the worst of it. Feels empty, storylines disconnected, didn't quite catch the spark. A playground, like GTA, but without the game(s).

I couldn't get into Assassin's Creed series, either. But again - personal preference against that kind of action games.

Final Fantasy. Well, JRPGs are... I've never played them, actually, to form a qualified opinion. Their popularity I explain simply with grown males being obsessed with Japanese culture.

10. Assassin?s Creed - Not really.

09. Any Guitar Hero Game - Oh f**k off.

08. Any Grand Theft Auto Game - Maybe IV, but not the others.

07. Gears of War - After the first one, yes.

06. Final Fantasy - Definitely.

05. Any Sonic the Hedgehog Game - Only the from 2006 onwards.

04. Call of Duty 4 - Correct that to every Call of Duty game after 4.

03. GoldenEye 007 - So the game which is the template for most modern FPS games is overrated? I'm starting to think this guy's a hipster troll.

02. Skyrim - Can't comment, as I still haven't played this yet.

01. Halo - No. Just no.

This guy totally misses the point of some of these games being great. He said of Goldeneye:

The reason I believe this game is overrated is because shooter games like this age terribly. There are much more recent shooter titles which also have aged terribly and certainly wouldn?t warrant a remake.

He's basically contradicting himself here. The whole reason Goldeneye was good at the time was because... it was good at the time. I went on a stag party with close friends a few months ago, and at the cottage we rented out for the shenanigans was an N64 and a copy of Goldeneye. Needless to say, not much time was given to it, because we also had a PS3 to play with, but that's not to say that I didn't love playing it as a kid.

Then of sonic:

Back in the good old days of 1991, I remember so fondly, well I wasn?t born yet but apparently Sonic the Hedgehog made his debut appearance. Sonic was exactly what SEGA needed in response to the mega successful Mario. The first Sonic game was okay, but SEGA made a habit of ?whoring? Sonic out and producing title after title of pointless games.

WAIT A MINUTE, this guy wasn't even BORN when the original Sonic The Hedgehog game came out? This basically means that he wasn't even old enough to play ANY of the original sonic games (Sonic 1 (1991), Sonic 2 (1992), Sonic 3 (1994), Sonic and Knuckles (1994)). The whole part of the classic franchise passed him by when it was in it's golden era. Granted I wasn't old enough to play Sonic 1 when it first came out, but I remember buying Sonic 2 when it was released, and for their time, they were fantastic games (I'd argue they're still great games to this day).

I'll agree that Sonic the Hedgehog is basically Sega's brand ###### now (Sonic and Mario at the Olympics anyone?), but the new sonic games get the crappy reviews they deserve. The original STH was a classic, tainting those games with the shovelware of the latest games is BS.

This whole article is basically clickbait.

10. Assassin?s Creed - haven't played

09. Any Guitar Hero Game - yes

08. Any Grand Theft Auto Game - yes

07. Gears of War - haven't played

06. Final Fantasy - say FF7 instead of grouping a whole series. FF7 was good, but way overrated and the pinnacle of FF hype.

05. Any Sonic the Hedgehog Game - hard to group a whole series, Genesis games were great though.

04. Call of Duty 4 - yes

03. GoldenEye 007 - no, replace with Minecraft

02. Skyrim - yes/no - good game, but probably got more attention than deserved

01. Halo - no

The only one I can agree with is GTA, and even then only specifically only 4. No way it should have gotten the scores it did... (Chinatown Wars on the other hand was great fun)

The rest of them pretty much deserve their scores, and games like Sonic games & FF don't always get high scores anyway, and as far as I remember the first Assassins Creed didn't go over so hot either, so it's hard to call them overrated.

I somewhat agree with Halo as well, I've never quite rated Bungie as that great of a studio, but 343i seem to have done a much better job on Halo 4 (possibly helped somewhat by a little Metroid vibe I get off watching some of the footage).

    • Those people that come over here on boats are already in a safe country, if they want to come over here then do so correctly though the right channels. I was born in the U.K, my family that came over here came so via the proper means. My partner came here via the correct channels, she also became a British citizen, she knows more about this country than most of them that was born here, including myself, she worked hard to do what she does. She will stick up for this country and have done a few times, when people from her own part of world have put the U.K down. We are not going to agree, all I said to start with is that maybe Trump has the right idea with this America first thing and maybe we should start doing the same. Maybe not as drastic as what he is doing, but we do need to sort this country out, we need to sort out tech instead of relying on the U.S and others. Again you have not shown why you are so annoyed that we have left the E.U and this is what it is all about? If you don't live in the U.K and live in the E.U are you annoyed that we left your little club? If you live in the U.K and is pro-E.U, then fair enough then I can see how it annoys you. Are you one of these people who lives in the U.K and have a holiday chalet in the E.U and can now only stay there for so long? If so, then that is bad luck. As I have posted before, I have no problem with people coming here to work, as long as they do if via the proper channels. We are out of the E.U, people voted out, and maybe if more people had voted instead of sitting on their backsides the results would have been different. But they like the E.U and our government thought no we would not vote to leave. How wrong they were, surprised me. I expected to wake up in the morning and hear on the radio that we voted to stay. As I said, we are out and have been for 10 years, we are not going to go back in anytime soon if we ever do, so we all need to make the best of how things are. Anyway, this is supposed to be a tech site.
    • Tim Cook: "The US over time began to stop having as many vocational kinds of skills." What's the point of wasting time getting those skills if you can't get a job with them? Good Lord, maybe he and his cohort of CEO's who exported all these jobs to China should just shut the f**k up :D
    • I made a new Cinematic/Trailer for the game, this will be the intro, still a work in progress!  I also updated the Steam page with a ton of new screenshots! 👀 https://store.steampowered.com/app/3925340/Incoherence_Dark_Rooms/
    • Closed-loop cooling and a custom 800G network protocol let the $7.3B campus run as one AI training machine. Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
