Article...

:/ :s   :|

Did you even play those games that you claim are "Overrated"?. Some of the Final Fantasy games "could be" overrated. FFVII definitely wasn't overrated. I would know as i played it over and over and over. After FFX i got bored of the rest of the series. i wanted to retire being an ff gamer after that. The music is awesome(FFVII-FFX)

That list is pure opinion. You cannot say a game is overhyped, because somewhere out there, somebody will feel that the game lives up to the hype. Saying a game is over-hyped is opinion only. The Article should be "10 Games I feel are overhyped in my opinion"

I like Assassins Creed games but the game is a bit repetitive. AC 2 is the best because of the improvements but the fighting in AC 2 through Revelations is weak because the enemies have indicators over their heads when they were going to attack. AC 3 doesnt look that diffrent so I will wait because Revelations let me down.

Very silly article just trying to attract page impressions. Of course you can nitpick at all these games but they're all pretty bloody good.

Pretty much.

I did find Assassin Creed pretty repetitive and not very inovative.

ACII improved a lot on the first. ACII is one of my fav sequels.

lol. The OP didn't write the article, simply posted it.

so far as my opinion goes some Final Fantasy games are VERY underrated, whereas Halo is VERY over rated. The single player is only so-so, and i do not like multiplayer FPS games :p

WAIT A MINUTE, this guy wasn't even BORN when the original Sonic The Hedgehog game came out? This basically means that he wasn't even old enough to play ANY of the original sonic games (Sonic 1 (1991), Sonic 2 (1992), Sonic 3 (1994), Sonic and Knuckles (1994)). The whole part of the classic franchise passed him by when it was in it's golden era. Granted I wasn't old enough to play Sonic 1 when it first came out, but I remember buying Sonic 2 when it was released, and for their time, they were fantastic games (I'd argue they're still great games to this day).

(..)

This whole article is basically clickbait.

Glad i didn't read it, getting tired of empties and void articles made just for the ads. And yes, that guy is an ass; I've bought all the first four Sonic's games and to this day I've had very good memories of sunny afternoons playing with my friends.

The only game that was REALLY overrated in that list is Final Fantasy VII, because none of the others received such attention and in my opinion were by far better games.

but 343i seem to have done a much better job on Halo 4 (possibly helped somewhat by a little Metroid vibe I get off watching some of the footage).

I say this, and I just find out some of the designers from Retro are now working at 343i, which would probably explain that :p

The fact that Goldeneye - a game that basically WAS the FPS at the time, the game that warranted a remake because enough people just wanted to play it some more, the game that for a while became the benchmark that other games were measured against... It just invalidates the whole list.

Plus, I don't think the Guitar Hero / Rockband games are overrated at all FOR WHAT THEY ARE. Fun, party, disposable nonsense.

GTA? Yes, let's just ignore its iconic reinvention of the drive/shoot genre.

Pah, article just looking for clicks.

Actually, I agree with all of these except Skyrim. (Even though Morrowind is still the best, Skyrim is awesome.)

I am also thinking a lot of you didn't read the article. Some of them he is talking about one specific game, or one facet of a game, some he is talking about the franchise of a certain game, and for instance, Final Fantasy, he said anything after IX has been overrated. Read the article....

I love Assassin's Creed games. But let us be honest... The first one did suck. The story was great, but the gameplay was mind numbing. You had to force yourself to do the same exact thing, over and over, to get the game done. All the Assassin's Creed games after the first one have been amazing. It was a great starting point, yes, but it was still incredibly repetitive and annoying.

He also hit it spot on with Final Fantasy.. The last good one was IX, hands down. Anything after that has mostly sucked.

While I don't agree with what you say, I'll defend to the death your right to say it. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare was a good game. It brought a much needed reboot to the flagging CoD brand. Any of the newer games I can't comment on since I haven't played them, but as a BF2 and CoD:MW1 owner, I'd have to question if you even played either game if you think they're the same game.

    • I'm not unblocking my camera for this crapola. Sorry, Google.
    • Ummmm that is what is it supposed to do. Just turn if off in settings if you do not want it analyzing your open tabs. Chrome does the same thing with Gemini. Sarfari will do the samething after Apple's AI and even more so with the release of their 27 versions that is now powered by Googles LLM/ML models. Understanding why it is doing it and how it can help you vs jumping to some conspiracy theroy is a much better approach. As long as it can be turned off, all is good. Yes the default should be off but the a lot of people would never discover these features.
