Trying to merge 2 Microsoft Accounts, help needed

Recommended Posts

I have a question/issue that I cannot seem to find the answer to. I have 2 Microsoft Accounts, one tied to my @gmail.com address, and another I just created recently (@outlook.com address).

On my Windows Phone 7, my apps and everything is tied to my @gmail.com Microsoft Account, and now I want to use my @outlook.com Microsoft Account for everything (including all the Windows 8/RT systems I will have...typing this on a Surface RT).

My question is: How do I merge my @gmail.com Microsoft Account to my "new" (and main) @outlook.com Microsoft Account? Especially since all my purchased apps for my Nokia Lumia 900 are tied to my @gmail.com Microsoft Account.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I did the live transfer using my Xbox 360 and moved from gmail to @live.com a while ago. The ONLY thing that didn't transfer was bing rewards and my msdn stuff, which is fine because I like having the business stuff left alone and all of my windows live stuff on my live account. It moved over my Xbox games, My WP7 licenses and well, I did it before I bought any windows 8 apps so I didn't have to worry about that.

Well, I had just finished writing up a long, detailed method to transfer everything including MSDN/TechNet, Xbox Live, Zune, Windows Phone, the whole shebang. I hit "Add Reply"... the Neowin Gods decided that it was my turn for a 500 error and I lost all that work. I will type it up again in the morning for you though. Either way, I went through the hassle earlier this summer and it shouldn't require a single call to Microsoft.
