Syncmaster stuck in sleep mode

Recommended Posts

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 913v,the power light flashes and the monitor is black screen.I have since been using another monitor on my desktop and left the syncmaster plugged in to the power and disconnected from a computer to see if it will wake up.It still flashes the green power light with black screen.

I have the 226BW, and I had a similar fault, (actually there are quite a few different Samsungs that all share this fault)

turns out 3 capacitors in the power board, (not the video board) have become bloated, or whatever you want to call it

basically these will need replacing, believe it or not it is actually very simple I have no knowlege of how to solder and repaired my monitor in about an hour

there is a 'how to' on Google and youtube and I assure you it is sooo easy, hell if I can do it, anyone can

You'll need 3 Capacitors, you can buy them from ebay or your preferred electrical supplier (I don't remember which ones I had to get, but they were available on ebay for me) a soldering iron, and a couple of screwdrivers.

Your monitor is NOT dead dude, so you're still in luck, as these have a great image, just about an hour or maybe 2 it'll be as good as new once those caps are replaced

(If you're unsure, some pc repair shops can do it for you, but they can charge whatever they like so be careful if you go down that road.
