even the news storys are copied and pasted from other sites just so i had content to work with lol

Nice, clean interface. Is that a ready-to-use script or something you build?

I'm lucky to have a job that lets me film some very unusual underwater critters. I specialise in macro videography. Most things on my site are very very small...and very very rare...

I paid $8,500.00 USD on elance.com for this ebay deal finder to be made,

http://seethecouponf...bay-deal-finder

I regret doing business with the person I hired as you can see the website doesn't load very quickly and theres nothing too exciting about the graphics as he lied to me that he had a team of graphic designers but did not.

If anyone has any advise for me on picking my next web designer please do recommend because I will be involved in another project in a couple of months.

I'm willing to give the design a update for a good price if you want, the designs/mockups are free of charge untill you pick one ^^

http://digiex.net/ - I really need to work on the theme, I think the one i did on VB3 looked miles better. Had to start again with VB4 and never really had time to perfect it, especially for the CMS. Just need to find the time to sit down and do something about it.

Wow, didn't know you were on neowin Insane, haha. I go to digiex for xbox stuff.

The 1990's called, they want their website back. :)

Seriously though, It's a shame you got taken advantage of like that. That is a simply hideous design, and for that kinda dough, absolutely unacceptable.

As others have offered, you should take one of them up on a redesign. The site won't look like a flashback of the past, and for a fraction of the cost.

Haha very small world it appears! I actually discovered Neowin back in 2001, however it took me two years to finally sign up!

Nice to know someone here has heard of Digiex (Y) can't say I recognise your name if you have signed up.

Thank you for your sympathy, it was indeed a horrible experience for my first big funded project, the funny thing is the guy claimed he was based in america with a team, however when I looked at my analytics I had only received ip's from india :/ .

This sounds great lets please get in contact I will send you my personal email address in a private message so that I can have your contact information when I am ready for a redesign in the next 3 months is the the frame I will be ready.

This makes me feel sick to my stomach knowing this is 100% true, the next time I am going to spend my hard earned money on a passion of mine its going to be through a long term member of neowin thats for sure.

Believe me after that experience I am never going back to elance.com for my web design needs, I had always got GREAT content developed from elance writers so I went in too confident with my web design needs. For my future needs it will be a neowin web designer, I will most likely post a thread asking for neowin members to vouch for other neowin members who are web designers when I am ready for my next web design project.

Thanks to every fellow neowin and their input.

    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
    • Ubuntu Livepatch arrives on Arm64 to eliminate system reboots for kernel updates by Paul Hill Canonical has just announced that its Livepatch service now supports computers with Arm64 processors. For those who are not familiar, Livepatch allows users to apply important kernel updates without any service interruption or rebooting. While home users will benefit from this, it’s even more important for critical machines that absolutely should not be going offline at all. The feature is available as part of Ubuntu Core 26 for Arm64 and Ubuntu Core 20 and onwards for AMD64. According to Canonical, this will improve the security of systems that aren’t security-maintained daily or weekly, and it helps organizations work towards Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance. If you are familiar with Ubuntu, you probably know that most packages can be updated without having to restart the system. There is one big exception to this, and that’s the kernel; it typically requires you to reload the system to boot into the new kernel. With Livepatch, Canonical has done something so that you don’t need to restart to begin using the new kernel. Aside from Ubuntu Core 26, users with Arm64 chips running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS can also use Livepatch. If you want to learn more about Livepatch, check out its product page. There, you can also find a button to join Ubuntu Pro (it’s free for several home devices) so that you can enable Livepatch. By linking your computer to Ubuntu Pro, you will also extend the life of your Ubuntu install from five years to ten years. If you are running Ubuntu, let us know in the comments if you have been looking forward to this feature on your ARM-based computer. If you’ve had a compatible AMD64 machine for a while and never used this feature, let us know why in the comments!
