0 muzzle79
crack smack.. i think photoshop should use a us dongle much like audio programs i use do. I'm not saying coming across software is cheap, by all means it's not. But if you intend on using it you should buy it. I equate it to Knowing there's a hot car on the mark.. say a nice Acura NSX, going to dealership researching it then going home withougt buying. Later that night you return it to the dealership steal it and drive it around.. what's the harm you only want to test it right?.. Later in the week while driving your stolen NSX you decide that it's not cool the seats are reclining corectly so you call the manufacturer and ask for assistance. .. *this is a blantant rant about the cubase.net forums...* but i'm sure it's tru with most software titles. Bottom line is be it software or hardware, stealing is stealing. However .. beta software is not so big an issue in my eyes..... and maybe that's me having a double standard just my usless 2 cents.. ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/112101-photoshop-80/page/4/#findComment-1316665 Share on other sites

0 mwilson
Hi, Here's a feature often overlooked in the quest for reasons to upgrade to CS--Nested Layers. For me, this alone is worth the upgrade price, but there are also many other performance and usability enhancements that aren't easily detected from just looking  at the UI. A few more new features not mentioned very often, but still very useful: Time Tracking for Billing Projects High Quality Previews in the Lightbox Full-on 16 Bit Editing Photomerge Panoramas Filter gallery for Viewing Multiple Filters Simultaneously Color Matching Across Layers or Images Pixel Aspect Ratio Customizable Doc Presets Export Directly to Flash SWF (ImageReady) Customizable Help Menus Color Replacement Tool Conditional Actions Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/112101-photoshop-80/page/4/#findComment-1318000 Share on other sites
0 Dogan
I've just installed it (with the fix ofcourse :D (don't ask me where I got it  )) and it r0xxors my b0xxors   The color matching feature is sooo sweet. 0 Jean-Claude Van Damme
Too bad that their full-on 16bit editing doesn't include the majority of their effect filters. That's weak. 0 rpeterclark
The text-on-a-path feature is cool too, although long overdue! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/112101-photoshop-80/page/4/#findComment-1318522 Share on other sites
0 Pink Floyd Veteran Posted October 31, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 31, 2003 Would anyone here recommend purchasing Photoshop CS for a casual home user? I would like to learn Photoshop more but am not sure if this (rather expensive!!!) software is worth the purchase or if I should perhaps look into Photoshop 7 or even Photoshop Elements 2. stick with photoshop element 2.0 its like 90 CAD and it's way enough for 90% of ppl doing picture editing Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/112101-photoshop-80/page/4/#findComment-1318547 Share on other sites
0 SYBOLD
Too bad that their full-on 16bit editing doesn't include the majority of their effect filters. That's weak. :pinch: 3 things...... #1 16bit is mainly used for editing photos #2 16bit is used to pre edit the photo before going into 8bit, because it has far more color/contrast info to adjust #3 the "filters" will take up way to much memory and CPU resources to calculate the result in 16bit, because it contains way more info than 8bit. i hope you get the point Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/112101-photoshop-80/page/4/#findComment-1318586 Share on other sites
0 Jean-Claude Van Damme
Double memory, same CPU usage. I want precision in my edits and effects, and it does matter when you work a lot on a picture, or add a lot of effects. Noise and color banding own you. That's why moving pictures (where you notice errors less than on still pictures) are processed at 16bit color channels since ages, or even floating point since recently.
