iphone 5 OR Samsung Galaxy S3?

Recommended Posts

I might be getting a smart phone soon and I am SUPER indecisive and cant decide which phone I want! I really thought i wanted the S3 but that was only because iphones didnt have 4G, but now that they do I am not sure what I want! Which phone is better? I really like them both but the S3 is kind of big and im not that nerdy so i dont know if i would use ALL of the stuff it can do. Also, it cant send emojis or if it does i think its a special keyboard that can that is weird. Also, im a really big fan of accessories that come with phones and i dont think that the S3 has many :( But i did find out that both the S3 and iphone 5 have clutch cases so i could put the phone there and have my money and ID attached to it. So, i just dont know what to do! Which one is better???? What should I do?

ALSO-- I LIKE THAT THE IPHONE HAS THAT LIFE PROOF CASE WHERE IF YOURE PHONE IS IN THE CASE IT CAN GET WET AND WONT GET DAMAGED

Go into a store and play around the phones on their model stands. Look through the app stores and compare, have a play and see which one you seem to like better.

i have! I really like both, so thats why i need help deciding and i just want to make sure i pick the BEST phone

They are pretty much the same performance wise, so it's probably a matter of what OS you like better. Android is a lot more customizable obviously, but iOS has better quality apps (in my opinion). Depends what you care more about.

Though the 5 has a much better screen than the S3, so if you want slightly better quality, go with the 5.

OK, either i'm too drunk to be replying, or the OP is taking the **** - and the responders are looking at the avatar and not the actual post.

1 - Surely the iPhone can do the same as the S3

2 - Someone wants to have their phone, money & ID all in one place?

And someone will choose the phone based on the accessories that you can get for it? Really?

I still don't see how you can say the Iphone 5 has a much better screen, when everything else says the contrary....

i have a S3 but moving to iPhone, why cause of work. The S3 sucks for active sync email address, im not happy with it so im getting the iPhone 5.

No issues at all for all the companies (including my own) that I use them with.

My recommendation? The S3, of course. Android is a hands down winner.

The problem i have is i have muti folders in my inbox and with rules to divert emails into those folders, android doesnt allow push on selected folders, only on the inbox, while the iPhone allows me to select what folders to push. i think im using the correct terms please correct me if not.

well duh, im a girl of course its gonna come down to the accessories for it if they are both REALLY good phones!!

If you want accessories, get the iPhone. I've had both, and both are very good phones. The iPhone has MUCH better apps, and hands down more accessories. If you don't like how big the S3 is, then don't get it. Either phone is gonna be a solid phone, but it sounds like you are better fit for the iPhone.

I don't care about accessories one way or another but my wife does, so she has an iPhone. But I totally agree with you, the iPhone has better accessories and apps. I still like Android better, myself.

Well speaking as someone who has yet to find something wrong with my s3, all I can say is, Get the iPhone :)

I'm being serious, The s3 is an amazing phone Bursting with features, but HTC have a better one, I could go on all day,

And from what I've understood in your OP, most of those would not be of much use to you, as you probably have no need for them, also if you are worried about the battery, you could get extended cover (I'm not sure if apple do it for batteries, if they do, then great, get theirs) for sealed phone batteries, some banks offer that, so do some, third party insurance companies.

I've owned over 20 android devices and 4 iPhones during the past 5 years.

Stay away from iPhones unless you are the type to buy "smartphones for dummies" books rather than getting **** done yourself. The android team clearly understands what people want and it keeps getting better than iOS since ICS. Don't take my word for it, try it in stores. The iPhone's screen is small and it feels like a fisher price gadget. Don't listen to fanboys on either side. I've owned both and I am currently using a iPhone (I miss my android devices)

Not trying to say one is better then the other, but read what she wants. She wants a phone that she basically isn't gonna use 95% of the stuff on it, wants accessories for the phone, and doesn't want a big phone. That's not the S3. As far as how they feel, that's up to each person, some people have said the S3 feels like cheap plastic, while other hate the iPhone for a lot of reasons.

FOR WHAT SHE WANTS, she should probably get the iPhone. I doubt she is gonna root it and do custom roms, or anything that makes the android system great. The iPhone is simple, easy, and works. That's what she is asking for.

The S3 is a good device and has some awesome features .. but you will only be able to take advantage of them if your friends also have S3's. If you are a conformist, the iPhone is the way to go. It's easier to use and a lot more stable then the Android OS.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
