i want a gtx 680

but which? I do not want any cap whine...I had this issue on my last 2 cards and I'm sick to death of it. I want the most stable of the bunch. I chose 4 GB cause I like to max textures and tend to use texture mods a lot, so I thought more Vram would free me up for a bit in the future. The one with 3 fans looks like it would be more stable.

I don't care about the 2 free games for the EBGA card, I don't like either of them anyway

Would I make use of 4 GB's? single monitor. I'm thinking of things like Skyrim's texture mods and future stuff.

Is the EVGA even very stable? The Gigabyte to me looks like it would run cooler and I have the case room for it.

I'm also looking at what's in stock. Some cards seem harder to find in stock still. and what about Cap whine...which cards don't suffer from it? my last 2 that did were MSI and Gigabyte, kinda leery of them now

No reason why the EVGA wouldn't be stable? If your power supply is sufficient you shouldn't have any problems.

I'd also go with the eVGA card; their warranty and support are some of the best. The other cards you listed may run a bit cooler, but they will blow that hot air throughout your case, the eVGA card blows it out the back.

Better deal with the eVGA card as well; you get two free games and the price is lower then the rest.

Get a 670 FTW instead... It's factory overclocked, so it's basicly the same thing but $100 cheaper...

This is also a valid point.

I don't care about the free games, don't want those 2 anyway. Probably get what you pay for

from my experience, dx11 games are hard on long used cards that were OC'ed. My factory OC 580 I got when it first came out can no longer handle dx11 or dx10 even. Used to work great but a year now and I can't keep it stable worth a crap on the same games that used to run great like BF3 or FC2. Crysis 2 is ok in dx9 but with the dx11 patch it wont hold up. So unless I underclock it quite a bit. raising voltage or maxing fan speed just doesn't cut it anymore. which made me realize I no longer appreciate tinkering around trying to fix game or hardware related issues. Plus I hated that cap whine as well, so trying to find one that doesn't.

Figure if I do get another factory OC one, I want it to have a good heatsink, maybe it'll hold out longer. Got plenty of PSU room for SLI if I wanted but I prefer single card solutions.

Oh, other games won't for a long time still, but Skyrim 4K texture mods will easily eat up all your VRAM. I've hit the roof of temporary 7870's big huge 2 GB with just a single 1600x900 monitor attached.

I also want a GTX 680

I'd go with Gigabyte's 4GB one, partly because it's supercool, partly because nobody imports EVGA stuff where I am.

I admit maybe we were considered this time around because of the extra coverage UFC was getting and they wanted a broader audience for this release? IDK.
