The latest Humble Indie Bundle just deployed, and it's anything but indie...

For those who can't view the video, this bundle contains...

  • Darksiders
  • Metro 2033
  • Red Faction Armageddon
  • Company of Heroes
  • Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
  • Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor

And the beat-the-average game...

  • Saints Row The Third

You get the game soundtracks as well (with the exception of Metro 2033).

Get stuck in.

Word of warning: This bundle is Windows-only, and you can only get the games in Steam key form (as usual for HIBs, it's one key for the entire bundle, then a separate key for the beat-the-average game). The minimum purchase price is $1, but I doubt that'll affect anyone here. :p

What part of this is a "humble bundle"?

- DRM-free? Nope

- Pay What you want? Not really

- Multi-platform? Nope

This is THQ selling out the Humble Bundle to peddle their products for cheap and raise some cash to stop them going under.

Don't fret; normal service will be resumed in a couple of weeks with Humble Indie Bundle 7. ;)

I have no problem with that.

FWIW, the last bundle wasn't truly multi-platform either.

Thought I had beaten the average for Saints Row, but once the payment had been accepted and I got to the page where it shows your keys Saints Row row was not there, so the average must have gone up in the time it took to do all of that? :(

Did you go like, a penny over?

Ahh well, no biggie; just go to your link and increase your amount so it beats the average, and you'll get the game. Slight catch is it locks to the average price when you first bought it. The current average is $5.21; when I bought it, it was $9.79. :p

"Did you go like, a penny over?"

I admit it wasn't much, but it was about $0.25 over. When I look at that main page now it's still less than what I paid. Oh well :)

Thanks. I'll try adding some more on now :D

You can pay whatever you want...

People need to stop calling it the "Humble indie Bundle", it is called "Humble Bundle". If they want to toss out indie games then they will put Indie in the title just like they did for eBooks, Andriod, and Music. If a company wants to package there games and let the Humble Bundle guys sell what is the problem? Don't want to give money to THQ then put all the money towards charity and/or Humble tip.

What part of a company selling its game for cheap for the good of charities is not humble?

I just bought it for $20. Darksiders, Red Faction: Armageddon, Metro 2033, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, and Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor all use one key for Steam. Saints Row: The Third has its own key so if you already have that game, you can give away the Steam key.

got this just for saints row. I wish it would let me gift metro 2033 to someone else since i already have it, but i suppose these bundles don't work that way.

I had to adjust the slider to give most of the money to chatiry lol Weird how they'd even have that since its supposed to be for charity period.

It's not, technically, it never has been, but yeah, I always give it all to charity too.

You can pay whatever you want...

No, you can't. The minimum price is a dollar, for other bundles it's always been a cent. It's technicalities, but it's still not "pay what you want" compared to the other bundles. (In their defence, I do understand that there's a restriction on price imposed by Valve to prevent spam accounts, which is why they do it).

Very true. I might still partake since I want Saints Row III and the new Red Faction, but my point was that the original Humble Bundle was aimed at getting indie developers some publicity, all the while making some money and doing some good for charity. This is just THQ selling their games cheap in their desperate bid to avoid bankruptcy.

What part of a company selling its game for cheap for the good of charities is not humble?

That wasn't my point. I'm fully supportive of THQ doing something for charity, and I'll probably buy in for SR3. My point was that in the beginning I liked the Humble Bundles because they exposed me to games that would otherwise not have been on my radar. This year there's been so many HBs that I've skipped most of them.

I dunno, I just think that HB used to be an event, now it's just an advertising campaign that repeats once a month.

AFAIK, the only other series of bundles that actually let you pay what you want is Indie Gala. They do something similar to Humble Bundle's beat-the-average, but it's always a fixed price (very reasonable though; the current bundle's bonus cost is $4.49). The other bundle series that I'm aware of (Indie Royale, Groupees, etc.) do the pay-what-you-want plan, but with a minimum price.

Guys,

THQ is in financial trouble. This really does feel like their last ditch effort to please the shareholders and generate

some cashflow to finish up the games they have in the pipeline. Metro 2034, CoH2 and SR4 (which isn't really in

the final stages of developent afaik)

So please, stop complaining about this not being a real indie bundle without DRM. Give your money to THQ, they need it.

Heck I've bought it just to help THQ and I've spent enough money on some of their games already.

    • EU Commission explains why Siri AI isn't launching in the EU, and Apple is to blame by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple This week at Apple’s 2026 developers conference, the iPhone maker unveiled the upgraded Siri after more than a year of delays. The new Siri is now called Siri AI, and it's powered by Google Gemini models. While Siri AI is preparing to roll out to Apple users worldwide, the company’s EU customers might need to wait much longer before getting their hands on the new assistant. Shortly after announcing iOS 27, Apple said in a blog post that Siri AI is not coming to the EU anytime soon due to hurdles posed by the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and other regulatory requirements. To comply with the DMA in the EU, Apple apparently needs to open Siri AI to rival assistants on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Apple has refused to do so, which has resulted in Siri AI being delayed for its EU users. The company argues that such a move would put users’ privacy at risk. In a statement to Neowin, a European Commission spokesperson provided more details about why Siri AI will not be rolled out to Apple customers in the region. The statement first noted that the DMA does not prohibit Apple from launching its services in the EU and that the company is simply required to comply with the law. The European Commission spokesperson added that, since Apple is considered a gatekeeper under the DMA, it is “obliged to give third parties access to equivalent features as they give to its own products. Because the DMA is precisely about giving users the choice to use the product they find best suits their needs.” Moreover, the spokesperson said the Commission has been in contact with Apple, though the company “did not develop proposals for DMA compliant interoperability solutions.” The statement also clarified that companies designated as gatekeepers cannot leverage their status and products, such as operating systems, to favor their own AI services. The first public beta of iOS 27 will roll out next month, while the stable version is expected to launch this fall following the release of the iPhone 18 series. It remains unclear when Apple will be able to resolve its DMA-related compliance issues with the European Commission and bring Siri AI to its European customers.
