the Action Pack is reserved to some type of professional customers if I remember well

from MS's site : The Microsoft Action Pack Subscription is restricted to resellers, consultants, value-added resellers, value-added providers, system integrators, developers, system builders, hosts, service providers, and IT professionals who sell Microsoft products or provide solutions based on Microsoft products and technologies to third-party customers .

I don't know what "Beta tester privileges and various reports" your talking about but you can now purchase the new version of MCE (2005) from a retailer as a OEM copy.

With MCE 2004 you could only receive it for general use through a large OEM, but not with MCE 2005.

bought them at a small specialized retailer in the south of france (yup)

the desks brand is Ofitres (www.ofitres.com), spanish stuff, I'm not sure you'll find that easily in UK

these are pretty sturdy desks, 3cm thick wood panels, they can resist to heavy weights and shocks and the sides are reinforced, 7 year warranty for the whole thing
