I have a glass desk as well and in no way do I regret getting it.  I think it looks more sleek and it isn't as big a deal as IK says it is.

It does look very sleep, thats why I bought it. I guess its not as bad as I said it is.

Glass Desks look cool but I'd imagine finger prints, smudges etc would be annoying.

Id also think twice about thowing my wallet down it

Also, You have to use a ugly mouse pad :(

They are annoying.

but not expensive?

IK .:. 47, you should mount one of those monitors up on the wall, and have a central monitor. Sort of in an upside down T, like that funky tetris piece. I was thinking of getting a 4th monitor, but A) It was a waste of money, and B) It was 100% pointless. I do a lot of programming now and that's why I have it set up the way I do, however, I recently converted the leftmost monitor to a linux box so it's no longer 3 screens on 1 machine. No matter how sexy it looks, it was 1 big waste.

One thing I am glad about, I didn't waste as much money as you IK, hahaha poor soul. BTW, do you even have all 4 monitors hooked up? I skipped a few pages and last I saw only 2 monitors were running.

^^  I use windex spray.

Once my desk is clean, it looks pro.

But a minute later, you see dust particles on the desk.

Thats what annoys me.

but, what can you do right?

its all good.

585328982

I use the spray too, but for slight touch ups I use the wipes. But then it doesn't look right with part of it being clean so I have to do the whole desk. And yea, mine gets dusty instantly too. That part sucks, but I like having glass overall. :)

well at least i know IK 47 and "candyshop" may have a bunch of monitors but cant take pictures worth a dime. Maybe they should sell one and get some photography lessons.

I agree with you 108% When I take pictures with my dad's nikon, they all turn out nice though. Its just with this stupid sony that they come out all unfocused and with bad lighting. 80mm forever!!

I agree with you 110%

Also, You have to use a ugly mouse pad :(

585328841

well...

a. mousepads are NOT ugly if you get a *real* mousepad. not some ratpadz bs or sumthin. go for either a steelpad s&s or qpad xxxl lowsense. or, if you like pure cloth and not hybrids or plastic, you can get the steelpad qck+

b. all those ppl saying "does a mousepad make such a difference". YES YES YES YES YES! without a mousepad i would be driven made by the inaccuracy and as well by the NOISE! just try out a steelpad s&s with a good mouse and some skatez... i promise you that you will be amazed by the difference! if something happened to my steelpad i would seriously commit suicide :p

oh ye, and its worth mentioning that almost ALL pro gamers use steelpad s&s's. these include sk-gaming, astralis, d-skyline, alternate attax, mouzesports, pcg, Skolpojkarna, pentragram.cnn, 3d, D!E, MIBR. the only two pro teams i know of who dont use them are EYEBALLERS and NoA (who recently won cpl winter) they use qpads and x-ray pads respectively.

i cant believe how many people here dont use pads. its blasphemy. you cant call urself anything in computing without a decent pad  and ppl spend so much on mouses, the least you could do is to let the mouses be accurate!

BUY MOUSEPADS!!!

soz for all the banging on, just really does make a massive diff.

omg scraggles!

I only bought them because you told me too!

remember not too long ago I pmed you about it?

then you said it was good?

omg, $2300 down the drain...

Im definately thrwoing these away.

Maybe you should've used your head?

Hello,

I really admire your 3 LCD setup, and was wondering how to go about and get myself one.  Just wondering,,

What type of graphics cards do you need to support 3 monitors?

Do you get good performance in games?

Is your setup on Analogue or DVI?

What size monitor is the best?

Currently, I own a 17" dell ultrasharp, and am thinking of either getting a 2001FP or two more 17" ones.

Thanks,

IK

Thanks. I use 2 video cards. Both are GeForce FX5200's. One AGP, which one monitor is plugged into, and the second has the other two plugged in, which is PCI. The whole setup is analogue. I'd say if your going to get any other LCD's go straight for BenQ. BenQ is the company that manufactures dell LCD's.

I don't get good performance on games, because the card I use for games sucks. I'm going to be upgrading it to a 6800 ultra at the end of this month.

Oh okay,

So all i have to do is a buy a pci graphics card? good. Thanks for your help.

585327005

585327140

I agree!!! I love that desk... and the cleanliness of your setup! :D

585327163

Love your setup FatCat. It reminds me of mine only better and less cluttered.

585327619

Cool desk, I'm tempted by a nice glass desk. Could be my next purchase...

585328200

thanks guys :)

I have this desk http://www.officemax.com/max/solutions/pro...ckOID=537078873

I wasn't expecting to find anything nice at Officemax but the desk spoke to me it was perfect. It does get kinda dusty but I have this nice cotten cloth I had with my glasses it takes the dust off with one swipe I don't have to spend a lot of time scrubbing. And yes the holes on the keyboard and mouse thing (what ever you call it) sucks I tried putting a piece of paper underneath twice but ended up picking up a really thin mouse pad. Most importantly the table was so simple to put toghether.

    • So how did you solve the problem? Disabling Secure Boot isn’t a solution.
    • Another devilish issue surrounding these certificates is what can happen with old, unsuspecting PCs that nevertheless have Secure Boot enabled. In my case, it was a Dell with a 3rd-gen Core chip (so about 13 years old). As of the last few weeks, it was suddenly BSOD'g within about 5 minutes of booting. Turns out it was because of MS's "Secure-Boot-Update" scheduled task, which is scheduled to run 5 minutes after login. It's explained in gory detail here (this is not my post, but it was where I found the answer), but the short version is that this legacy system would need fairly elaborate, manual certificate intervention since MS's automatic cert update method cannot work. How to do that is linked late in the thread. https://www.bleepingcomputer.c...od-caused-by-scheduled-task Secure Boot wasn't at all important for this particular PC, so I disabled it to be done with the problem.

In addition, new settings in Gaming & Performance introduce AI taskbar pin toggles, options to remove AI apps, and controls for AI services and scheduled tasks, allowing users to better manage how AI components run in the background and appear in the system. For advanced users and IT professionals, Winhance integrates WIMUtil, a tool for creating custom Windows installation ISOs with automated configuration. You can generate autounattend.xml files, inject drivers, and apply your chosen Winhance settings automatically during installation. Most changes are non-destructive and reversible, with clear explanations in the GUI. Whether you’re optimizing a single PC or managing multiple systems, Winhance delivers a faster, cleaner, and highly personalized Windows experience. Winhance 26.06.12 changelog: Features Builder Mode — build a Winhance config file or autounattend.xml without changing anything on the PC you're sitting at. Flip the new mode switcher to Builder, set everything the way you want it, and save the result as a Winhance config or an autounattend file ready for deployment on other machines. Sponsors & Supporters page — the exit donation dialog is gone. In its place, an in-app page (heart icon or the More menu) recognizes the businesses and individual supporters who keep Winhance free. It works offline and is fully localized. Change History — Winhance now keeps a receipt of everything it does. ChangeHistory.txt records every setting change (before and after values) and every app install or removal, with clear headers for config imports and bulk actions. Open it from the More menu. Hebrew language support — Winhance is now available in 29 languages. New Explorer customizations: desktop icon visibility toggles, This PC folder visibility, an icon cache size setting, and automatic thumbnail cache cleanup. New "All apps view" setting for the redesigned Windows 11 Start menu, and the Windows 11 system tray icons setting is now a dropdown with more control. App-local UI zoom — press Ctrl +/-/0 or use Ctrl+MouseWheel to scale the whole app, just like a browser. New External Apps: EA app, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, Rockstar Games Launcher, PowerShell, and Helium Browser. Bug Fixes Layouts no longer clip when the Windows text size slider is set above 100%. Accessibility: Narrator now announces setting names on toggles and dropdowns, previously unlabeled buttons are labeled, and progress updates are announced. Silent updates now respect your custom install location instead of reverting to the default. Cancel in Review Mode no longer clears your app selections. OneNote is now detected correctly for Win32 Click-to-Run installs. Clean Start Menu applies more reliably by also writing the group policy path. WinGet errors are no longer silent — error details now show in the terminal output. Fixed a startup crash on older Windows builds caused by a .NET runtime regression. Config import now converts power setting values correctly and no longer re-applies an already-active power plan. Improvements App icons load noticeably faster and cover almost everything now, including legacy capabilities and optional features — they come from a dedicated, checksum-validated icon repository and are fetched in parallel. Software & Apps polish: per-icon tooltips, extra table columns, an app sort dropdown, relocated search, and a cleaner compact view. A warning now appears when the Connected Devices Platform Service is set to Manual or Disabled, since some Windows features depend on it. • Of course the problem was Secure Boot's new certificates. Install media created by the official Media Creation Tool is already signed with a valid certificate from Microsoft, so maybe that certificate isn't "up-to-date" enough for machines with the new ones installed in the UEFI. There's really no other logical explanation.
