Adrian,

Hey nice setup. But I gota ask you. what you think of the z-5500? for me I didnt think they were much fantastic of an upgrade. I mean if I was in a room with those speakers and someone asked me how much I though they cost I would say maybe $120. what you think?

I have the Z-680's and I love them except for the digital hiss. my friend has the Z-5500's and the sound is almost identical. the hiss is not as loud but still there. other than looks and a better control center they are they basically the same. in other words they are not much of an upgrade.

well actully for me the hiss almost fully went away once I upped my sound card from a no name to a creative 2 ZS platinum PRO sound card. but still for 500W I'de stleast expect them to get really freaking load.

Here's my updated workstation. I really love it. Hope you guys do too.

I love it, so far I have experienced no slow downs.

Nice setup, Adrian. Looks neat and clean. :) What's the panel you have in the case/what's it do?

Thats a speed controller for the fans, although I'm thinking of taking it out.

I'd say mine are perfect, maybe because I upgraded from absolutely crap speakers and I was used to crappy sound quality.

IC

word on the street is if you connect through the optical connection you can improve the quality. guess time will tell.

If Im lucky, I'll be getting a Jerker in a few days. My family took a road trip to Houston and I asked my mom to go to the Ikea store there.

I'll try and see if I can post some photos. I've been following this thread for a while now and all the neat and clean desktops really makes me want to try something new.

I swear if they dont come back with my desk, there'll be hell to pay.

Great workstation. I actually thought about buying the same desk before I saw the Jerker. The only thing I dont like is the hole in the desk where the tower should go. It just looks weird. How is it though, is it convienent?

Thanks! And yes, very convienent. It also does a better job of hiding the wires than if it was sitting to the side or something. I'm very big on keeping things like wires out of the way. ;)

I was looking around at the ikea website and I found this JERKER desk but it was really weird. It was like the computer was strapped to the desk on the side with a half inch cloth band. Am I looking at the wrong thing?

hmm the strap holds the pc in place and its an add-on thing

    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
