.Neo
There is something definitely not right with ML. Even the Apps store opens faster and works better with SL. I no longer see lag on the UI or in the apps store. The App Store is just a website inside a wrapper so I kinda wonder how that would even be possible. .Neo
To that I wanted to add: Scrolling performance of the App Store page (especially the main page) has always been terrible on my iMac.
REM2000
i found ML got it's responsiveness back, to the same level as SL in 10.8.2 earlier versions were a bit laggy.

On Lion and Snow Leopard before I installed my SSD in my MacBook, the App Store LAAGGGGGEEED!! I don't get it either. There isn't a whole lot going on there other than downloading from their website. The whole interface just lagged. After I installed the SSD, App Store was extremely snappy.

MS Bob 11
Everywhere I am reading OS X users going to Snow Leopard and avoiding Lion and Mountain Lion. It's like everyone going back to XP. :p Shadrack 1 Share

Shadrack
Everywhere I am reading OS X users going to Snow Leopard and avoiding Lion and Mountain Lion. It's like everyone going back to XP. :p If you have a major piece of software that is only stable in Snow Leopard, then you probably stayed in Snow Leopard or went back to it. Lion was a pretty big over haul of an update that broke some software compatibility. For instance, there is a really popular raster image editor called Pixelmator (its on the App Store now). It is on 2.x now. When it was 1.6 on Snow Leopard it brought an incredible amount of extensions to be used in the Automator App. You could do really cool stuff with your images by making automations, attaching those to smart folders and dropping images inside. Lion broke features, and the developers never responded. Instead I think they are probably going a different route in v2. Probably because they don't want to have to do another rewrite of their scripting extensions to keep their users on the latest OS.
.Neo
Software compatibility is a very specific and good reason. I feel many others do indeed suffer from the "Windows XP" syndrome and just deal poorly with change. Same goes for those who claim 10.8 is "bloated". Glassed Silver
I love Automator, however it should be advertised more and also used more by devs. You can do some awesome stuff with it, although often it's smarter to just use Apple Script which is a hell load of awesomeness of a scripting language.
