My Xmas present to myself.

Recommended Posts

This year I bought myself a present. It's been on my "wish list" for a very long time. It's a Dell 30 inch IPS monitor. To put the size of the monitor in perspective, each monitor to the left and right of the middle (30 inch) are 24 inch monitors. This monitor is pretty sweet I have yet to game on it, but I shall try that pretty soon! The graphics card that is driving that beast is a GeForce GTX 660Ti.

You don't. :)

wow! How do you use that many screens at the same time?!

The top right creen is for things I don't care about like downloads. The left monitor is for remote assistance sessions via gotoassist. The Right monitor is for chatting and the middle monitor is for everything else.

Oh and the top left screen isn't even connected to this computer. It's connected to my server / security system / voice mail system computer.

Wow if you are using that many screens for gaming and general desktop use is overkill.

Sentence didn't really make sense. So what is overkill?

It is also possible to do 3 full screen remote sessions all at the same time with my 3 monitor (or more if I run 2 windowed on the new 309 inch) configuration (the screenshot is of my old monitor)

Here is my present to myself......

a BlackBerry pearl 2012 dodge avenger

(not actual car but same model and color)

It had 490 miles (previous owner was in an accident)

they replaced the driver-side doors and auctioned it off

Paid $16,000 cash

saved myself $7000-$8000

I've often wondered why nobody called me out when I mention my triple screen system, now I know, most users here are savvy enough to know that not only is it possible, it's easily do-able also

I just tried Need for speed hot pursuit at native resolution. It's like your entire face is in the screen. It was very fun!

Now you know why you can never go back.

You're so much in the game, everything less is a framed disappointment.

Compensating for something >.<

You got smaller, suddenly all your screens are bigger :o

    • IBM are good at announcing stuff, but not at actually delivering it... How many decades ago did they announce quantum computers, and here we are in 2026, with CHINA delivering them, and IBM still talking...
    • It sounds like you’re trying to rewrite a narrative to align this layoff with your political beliefs. Games can be horrible, whatever backwards notions you have don’t change that bungie has problems, mostly with just bad games, and arrogance. When they pushed Microsoft to let them be independent they lost their way. They hired on a bunch of people and they couldn’t justify the employee count consistent with their revenue.
