iPhone 5 vs S3, Can't make my mind up..

Recommended Posts

Those thinking the iPhone 5 is better, here is a chance to educate yourself.

someone like to counter these 50? They are all pretty good reasons why it is better.

Again, International versions get 4core1gb - USA versions get 2core2gb

Sure :)

The list claiming the S3 is better is mostly features the iPhone doesn't have, which imo are hardly useful for every day tasks. The iPhone list is mostly regarding the better quality of the physical phone and how the OS is faster and not bloated. Pick your poison, I guess.

No it does not... Very few carriers get the quad core, and only some get the 2GB of ram.

True Story

Yes it does.. I have it.

I got mine from TMobile UK, and its definitely quad core and 2gb ram.

Did you not even bother to read the link I posted?...

You do realize that the UK isn't the only country in the world that offers an LTE S3, right?

Please do your homework first before posting incorrect information...

Astra, you said it did not, he proved that it did. He didn't post incorrect information, but you did. Maybe if you had made your first post more accurate as far as to say that such and such do, while most do not, then he wouldn't have had to correct your first statement. He did his homework, you just apparently were on the wrong page of it.

Huh? He made the initial claim... I proved that there is a version that does not. Read my first response to him...

Any S3 from a US carrier does not have a quad core. Not sure if any other countries don't either, but the US version absolutely doesn't. The one sitting on my desk at home has a dual core. I never said that none of them have a quad core. Again, read my first response.

He is the only one here posting false information.

For what it is worth.. I went a head and bought the iPhone 5 from best buy.. At first I was just OK with the phone.. Until I got into my car.. I just bought a new car with built in bluetooth audio.. Worked good with my Galaxy S3.. I hooked my iPhone 5 to it via bluetooth..and I kid you not.. the sound is A LOT better.. Which doesn't make any sense to me.. It is a much fuller sound.. I have had my Galaxy S3 and an iPhone 4S in my last car that had bluetooth audio and never noticed the difference.. Audio matters to me the most and a reason to hold on to it.. Galaxy S3 has a lot of great features and advanges but for me, I find the iPhone 5 to suite me best. I am trying to do some research on how the iPhone 5 would sound so much better using bluetooth.. I could understand if I was using the headphone jack.. but I don't get it but I am very happy to have found this. Thank you everyone for your post.

Here is my new outlook on phones..

Some are faster, bigger, smaller, features A, features B

What it gets down to it.. the Phone needs to match the person.. It doesn't mean that the are less educated if they have an iPhone for a genius for having an android.

What? I never said all versions do, I was stating the S3 LTE does have quad and 2gb (at least the UK version one I have)

What information have I posted that is false? All the information I have posted is correct.

To your initial reply stating for me to do my homework..

Shakeys comment said it pretty much how it is.

Stay away from proprietary. So the S3 should be your choice due to the robust features it has and the future ability to flash ROMs to root the device. Remember, you love customizing your phone, so don't be stupid by going for the iPhone. You go for an iPhone and even better a WP8 Nokia Lumia 920 when you are no longer interested in customizing the UI with ROMs. WP8 is somewhat customizable but nothing like using ROMs to change the UI. WP8 is just smooth and fluid and it is fun to use. And it's so much more personal.

You are wrong sir. I am an Apple user. Apple TV, iPad, iMac and until 2 weeks ago, I was an iPhone 4S user and I can tell you that the battery on the Note 2 and the S3 lasts way longer than the iPhone's battery. Sorry, but you are wrong. I was an iPhone user for 4 years. I use my Note 2 just as much as I used my iPhone 4S and by the time I get home from 7am to 6pm, I still have 58% battery left. On the iPhone 4S my battery was dead by 3pm, same use habits since I use my phone for work. GPS off, BlueTooth off. The Samsung phone batteries lasts longer.

Did you fail to read where both phones have BIGGER batteries.... If they had the same size battery, the iPhone would be the best optmized for battery.

iOS and Windows Phone are much better optimized to use battery power then android is.

What? I never said all versions do, I was stating the S3 LTE does have quad and 2gb (at least the UK version one I have)

Perhaps you should have been clearer about what you were referring to. You saying the LTE S3 has a quad core is implying they all do, which is wrong. My initial response backed that up, so there was no reason for you to drag it on like I'm the one that's wrong...

i'm lost at what you are getting at... so.... ok?? Great to see you are maintaining your usual quality posts there buddy!

Right back at ya! It's always a pleasure to have you "educate" us...

That's funny because the exact same thing happens when hooking up my iPhone 5 to my friend's Audi. He owns a Galaxy S III too and even when using the identical files my iPhone 5's Bluetooth sound quality comes out on top. I thought he would go nuts there for a while trying to figure out what's causing it. I read somewhere that the Galaxy S III scales down the quality before streaming but that doesn't really make sense to me.

Out of curiosity: What audio format are you using (AAC, MP3, etc.)?

If you can't decide between the iphone 5 and galaxy s3, get a Lumia 920!

The size isn't really doing it for me (even bigger than my Lumia 900) but I do like Windows Phone's interface a lot. I can definitely see myself switching back once third-party app support improves. Especially if iOS development stays this stagnent.

Out of curiosity: What audio format are you using (AAC, MP3, etc.)?

MP3s (Usually live DJ Sets) and Spotify lol

That makes sense why the bluetooth sounds much better in my Infiniti with my iPhone 5.. in my 350z.. I had all high end after market that most likely hid imperfections in the quality while my Infiniti is all stock.

    • It could EASILY be 70 for the base game BUT + lots of FOMO to make it up to 100-120, like a few days Early Access, online money, pre-order bonus cars, weapons, missions, clothing, avatars or profile stuff, etc... And still WAY TOO MANY people would buy those and make Rockstar insane money.

    • WTF! Nah, not this one. If you were back then using computers in the 90s or you had a clue, you'd know this was huge and was seen and overused absolutely everywhere and you'd take this article as no more than a retrospective story. That's all it is.
