I don't seem to play muh games

Recommended Posts

I was so close to finish playing all my 200+ games in Steam. I had about 8 games left to play, then comes the Humble THQ Bundle, Humble Indie Bundle 7, and Steam winter sale. Now I have another 15+ games to play. I've accepted the fact that I'll never finish all the games in my steam catalogue, but I'll try.

glad to see Gianpotato is here, i'll never forget his reply to one of my posts on the Steam holiday sale 2-3 years ago: "you'll never play them". hahaha classic reply, will always remember that. so true.

we have lives to live and there are simply too many games, and these days even mediocre games are enjoyable. can't remember the time I played a bad game. there simply isn't enough time for gaming, tho I love it as much as I did when I was six years old, first time I started gaming!

just accept the backlog with a smile OP, at least you're gaming on your 360. this isn't a PC issue, it's a time issue, you haven't got enough time. I have a backlog of like 40-50 titles between PC, 360, PS3, and Windows Phone. all good games I enjoy.

It's the sales that get to me. I'll buy some games on Steam, play a quarter of them for no more than 30 minutes, and go back to playing my old games. Fortunately for me, I let my younger siblings use my Steam account so at least someone is getting enjoyment out of my games.

I haven't touched any of the games in the Humble Bundles I've bought (with the exception of Saints Row: The Third):

  • Humble Frozenbyte Bundle
  • Humble Indie Bundle 3
  • Humble Indie Bundle 4
  • Humble Indie Bundle V
  • Humble THQ Bundle

I have 507 games on Steam.

Though in the past few years I have become the same way, never really playing any games, or if I do it's for a bit, and I don't finish it.

Back in the day, played the crap out of a game, though back then it was easier, no achievements, no 100 quests, sidequests...it was simpler back then.

we all seem to have the same problem. we are addicted to buying games, not actually playing them. i'm not sure which is worse! all that money sitting and not being enjoyed. well, at least we support jobs and the industry.

Heh I play them all the time, I just get tired of them after a certain point.

Recognizing when that is is the issue. I was still enjoying Skyrim for the gameplay here and there but the story and characters and dragons and stuff get pretty meh.

Ya, I'm really guilty of this. For some reason, I just can't sit down and enjoy the gaming... but I have to get a game basically once a month. It's a horrible addiction lol.

Yeah, I buy way to many games than I can actually play as well. It is stupid as can be, and I am going to try and be smart with it this year, for sure. I still have a back log of titles to play that will easily get me through the first 2 months of next year, if not longer.

As far as the issue, I too have a ton of games on the PC I have hardly touched. My main reason for it is I sit in front of a computer all day at work. I really just do not feel like sitting in front of one when I get home any more. I actually have to admit to myself these days I actually prefer console gaming. For nothing else than the fact I can sit on my couch. I know PC gaming is superior, i actually just upgraded my graphics card a few months back, and if given the choice, I will always choose the PC as the preferred platform to play on, I just do not play on it that much at all these days.

Its a combination of getting older and also as I said, not wanting to sit in front of a computer after doing so all day for work. I guess this is what getting old is all about, sacrificing those things you prefer to kill time on on the things you actually have to kill time on. Oh well I guess.

I, too, have the same problem as most here. I look at my Steam library and think 'WTF did I buy that for' or I see a game like Dishonored, which I bought day-1 but haven't even installed yet! Pretty embarrassing to think about the $$ spent, actually.

One of my New Year's resolutions is to be to finish one game before installing/buying another. I've found there are times I'll have 7-8 games installed and for what?

    • All these CEOs got the biggest boners thinking about firing employees for AI. Turned out it was just a wet dream.
    • And the fact that the majority of people from Poland are white European Christians while the people you are complaining about in post after post are not is just a coincidence... Every sentence in your post I am replying to is racist nonsense. None of it is actually based on any facts whatsoever. All immigrants are seeking a better life too. It's literally the only reason they would risk everything and leave their homes, families, and homeland. They are working and contributing to the economy too, as you even admit. They get the same benefits your partner did AND that YOU are eligible for as well. That is one of the key things of the EU and a mark of a civilization. That is the definition of a society where everyone is given a chance, treated equally and fairly, and is judged by the content of their character, not their different skin color or which version of ignorant superstitious nonsense their parents lied about as children. Racists around the world said the same things about the Irish and Jews and Poles (like your partner) and...every other immigrant movement over the centuries. What's your family's heritage, by the way? Were your ancestors lied about with racist fearmongering crapola by self-entitled locals the same way as you are now? If someone like that said the same things about all people from Poland, like your partner, would they be right? Or would you want them to judge your partner based on who they actually were, not where they just happened to come from?
    • Again, this is an irrelevant attempt to attack the messenger. The truth does not require any justification.
