Seems to be some SERIOUS compatibility problems I guess, so far Isee its mainly the 1024 version thats no good, and the 1600 version.

This is really odd, because all it should have teken was a resize of the backgrounds so everyone woill see it it properly in their resolution. (so things link the shutdown link will show at the bottom of the user box) it doesnt have any icons of the shutdown button though as its just a text link in longhorn. :)

Ok ! would anyone like to volunteer testing the StarDock 'LogonStudio' version I made ?

- its of the original login. in 1280x1024 - if it works I will try to fix it up for other resolutions later. - I am hoping to get better compatibility with this one.

improvement you'ld need to do/try :

-drop shadow on the shutdown text and any others if theres any (it looks really better and got one in longhorn)

i had another one but cant remember it... ill tell you, and the go button like someone posted earlier would look like cool too dunno, i havent seen the original one yet :D

okay ! - right well I just test BOTH of the 1024x768 versions on my PC, and yes they were working fine... makes it hard for me to figure out the bug when its working fine on my PC ! LOL...

Right this one is for LogonStudio - by StarDock, Resolution: 1280x1024

Ok I have just added the fixed loginui on the first page. This new one should work in any resolution ( When I tested it on mine it was !) Hopefully this will have fixed some of the problems.

Please re download this login. By the way its the Original Slate Login - not the modded one. (will work on that later today) :D

@BuG

I used Rsource Hacker, and ResBuild by TGTSoft :)

P.S sorry for the bugs with it not working for everyone. Hopefully the new fixed version on the first page will now work for all ! (see attachment to download)

nice nice thecat...

after like 2 years using the same login im perhaps going to change to the pdc login one... im kinda getting bored of mine although its nice :D

i've been chillin around with the login/cusomtomizing to suites me better...and came accross couples of things, bugs

:

the shadow under the picture...its getting plain blue or another color when hover...

the password box, its not white inside dont looks nice..

check your pm thecat, im sending you url with the pictures, if you have a clue :D

btw, is it possible to have shadow under the textes ? specially the SHUTDOWN one that would be great :D

-BuG

Well they aren't bugs. ;) They are a part of the bitmaps colouring, I knew about the blue glitch when testing it out, its because one of the user account pics has a blue area underneith - I didn't get rid of it in the rush to fix the other size bugs I had.

Can fix all them up for you though. But I bet people are getting tired of downloading my fixes by now :(

As for shadows on the text ? not tried that, and dont know if it can be done with the XP logins. I know I was wondering on how this can be done with the XP logins. Has that ever been done before ?

The password box's hex value is #ffffff so it should be white ! :D (least it should be)

If you want me to fix the blue on this login I will do, but I dont think its hardly noticed, but its also not hard to remove ! LOL

Very nice, but I like to have the shutdown dialogs when powering down my pc, like Windows is shutting down and stuff...

hmm I think I'll need or require some help with that part. The original login exe seems to have this disabled some how, and I can't remember how to do those parts :( (been a long time since I last did any resource hacking on these things you know) ! :D

Any tips pointers on what to find and change etc will be appreciated !

Cheers.

Cat. :p

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
