K, heres mine, as you see the flag is above the logon area :)

http://www.pcadventurers.net/iboard/Post_I...051/Preview.png

I just resized the wallpaper so try it out and see if you can see the flag now ;)

See attachment below !

there is still no flag for me.

Well its definately on the wallpaper :) it could be hidden behind the login box area, or its above the screen area at the top of the screen. Remember I did the wallpaper as 1280x1024, and when I re tested in all resolutions the flag was suprisingly still there for me.

So its on the wallpaper, maybe its not showing because of one of those things I said. Open a resource builder hacker program and you will see it does have the flag. Maybe it would be better if you can extract the wallpaper and move the logo to where it shows for you on your screen. Then re -insert it.

Other wise I doubt I am going to get this right for everyones resolutions -Sorry.

Like I say, it works for all resolutions for me with the flag always showing, so its hard for me to change some thing that looks ok already ! - At least it does resize in all resolutions now anyway.

We could be more inventive and stick the Windows logo actually on the Slate panel area ? - would anyone go for that version ? - it will resolve the problem of the flag anyways :D

Just let me know :)

yes guys,

in order to modify the resources 100 in bitmaps you need something else than resource hackers, i dont know why but in almost all logins, reshack crashes when opening this bmps

http://www.tgtsoft.com and look for RES BUILDER its same as resources hackers but works nice :D and free

Cheers,

Hi guys hope you had a good weekend :D

Ok ! I had some new idea's last night and will do another test build today - wont say what I have in mind in case it doesn't work ;) But It might sort out the flag problem here.

@h99120351

I can see there's something really wrong with that login ! - the colour depth looks like its in 256 colours too. Which shouldn't be the case at all, as the login box area is a 32bit Bitmap ;) It has alpha transparency in there. Is your PC ok with Alpha blending ? - the wallpaper is showing as white I think because your PC seems to take the colour I have used for black as being transparent. The wallpaper however is a 24bit bitmap :)

Hope this helps.

Sure if this next test doesn't work guys, I will ask you to just down load a wallpaper for your resolution, and use Resbuilder to insert the bitmap wallpaper yourselfs. But I will see if I can do this fix again first !

The wallpaper is really weird. using the hex value of #000000 - on my PC produces that white background which our friend has. if I use an off set colour of back it works fine. (for most people)

I'll see about changing the colour to another hex code to see if it will get rid of that problem too.

Seeya later, when I have something !

Hi all i have a problem

when i start my pc then right before the login a blue screen from the standard loginscreen of xp comes

then the black Longhorn 4051 logonscreen comes. how can i change the blue screen to black? thanks in advance :D

the glitches on the account pictures, where you get that weird blue showing up is on the account login pictures within the file. Now they are supposed to have an alpah channel I think, so you get that transparent affect with the shadow. You must preserve the image pixel depth and colours other wise it could cause the login to fail ??

I have been working on that last night though and have almost finished re doing that so the glitch should be gone I hope.

I am working through some idea's I had last night, and will let people test it out for me if they like later on.

If no go, then sure I'll post up wallpapers with the windows logo for those who feel confident enough to hack their logonui's and to fix the wallpaper problems.

By the way in my new test I have changed the colour black to another hex code - so hopefully it will no longer clash with any transparency area's in the theme.

Hi Bug :)

Ok the user colour in the password box is hex (#ffffff) = WHITE (or 255,255,255) if you like so its really just white ! - actually according to my editing programs they are both WHITE ! the values are as shown for both of the white area's.

Ok I have a new test Login for people to try out for me. Fingers crossed this will work better.

- Changed Black colour to another value

- re did user login panel added Windows flag into that area.

- re did wallpaper - now it has no logo (been moved)

- shadows for user pictures removed. (not sure if its fixed)

NEW! - added shutdown/un dock pictures to theme - removed text link. Now looks a little more like the real Login ?

Should support all resolutions. If there are bugs remaining still PLEASE provide details of your resolution, and actual problem - with a screen shot :) - it will help me see what your seeing ;)

Please download the attachment !

you said you removed the logo. now this version has the logo for me but its not very well done. the width seems to be stretched.

post-38-1067959335.jpg

did you read what I said properly ! I said I REMOVED the logo from the wallpaper - its now part of the login bitmap. Why is it stretched ? - thats because the flag logo is now part of the login area bitmap - it's doing what its doing because the login box resizes for each resolution that is used. The flag will never look 100% but Its a compromise really. Besides it doesn't actually look that bad.

I'll release some source files too - the wallpaper with the flag seperate. If you wish you can use rebuilder to re do my login, with the original wallpaper - all you need to do is add the logo. The re insert with resbuilder.

Personally I think this version is ok - the logo isn't that bad.

For anyone wanting to have a go themselves with rebuilder - to get their fixes any fixes done themselves with their own modifications, please try the flag and wallpaper in the attachment. For other bugs just let me know about them.

P.S @bug

not sure if that colour problem around the accounts picture was a bug in the original Microsoft Login too ? Seems to happen when you move the mouse/cursor over the account picture. I have removed the drop shadow altogether, but still get some glitches there.

I'd use photoshop to edit those images if you do, anything else just screws up the alpha channel and doesnt save properly. ;)

What about log off and shutdown dialogs?

I said earlier I need a little help with some tips on how to put those back in the login. The login I have re hacked has had these bits removed or disabled in some way. Its been a long time since I have done anything like this - so can't remember what I need to look for in the login.

So if anyone knows what bits are missing or any tips on what to find, I'd apprieciate it if you tell me ! I will then put that dialog text back into this login.

    • Hey Google, these are the Gemini features I want in 2026 by Aditya Tiwari Google Gemini has been around for over three years. The AI chatbot started its journey back in 2023 (as Bard) when ChatGPT was already a talk of the town. However, it quickly attracted criticism after misrepresenting facts about the James Webb Space Telescope. The search giant spent a year fine-tuning Bard before rebranding the chatbot and its underlying generative AI model to Gemini, drawing inspiration from NASA's first human spaceflight program. Note that Bard was initially powered by LaMDA and PaLM 2; Google has since added several new features and integrations to Gemini. That said, there is scope for improvement and a gap for new features. I have been using Gemini for a while now and have realized that the chatbot lacks several features, making it harder for me to research across topics. These are mostly function-over-form updates that can improve the overall experience. Delete individual messages from a conversation Image via DepositPhotos.com One good thing about Gemini is that it can maintain context throughout the conversation. But things might get chaotic when you want to ask a related question, but don't want it to be part of your conversation in the long run. You can't ask that related question in a fresh chat because Gemini will lose the active conversation context of what you're trying to research. If Google allowed you to delete individual question/answer pairs, you could simply ask about a sub-topic and remove it from the conversation to create a smooth flow of important stuff. Offline mode Image via DepositPhotos.com A big pain of using Gemini daily is that everything loads from the cloud. It takes time for your chats to appear, and you can't view your conversation history while offline. To get a better idea, you can open the Gemini app and see how it looks without an internet connection. While Gemini models run in the cloud, it wouldn't hurt if Google could store chats (at least the text part) on the device so we can refer to them when offline. Google can also offer a lightweight version of its AI model to help with basic drafting, summarization, and other tasks. It has the Gemini Nano model, which can perform on-device processing on Google Pixel, Samsung, and some other Android brands, but it's a system feature and not related to the cloud-based Gemini app. Make temporary chats permanent I can't thank Google enough for taking the time and effort to add incognito mode or temporary chat mode to the Gemini app. It lets you have conversations without worrying that the topics will end up in your chat history or used for model training (at least on paper). Google claims that it doesn't use your temporary chats to "personalize your Gemini experience or train Google’s AI models." However, the data is stored "up to 72 hours to respond to you and to process any feedback you choose to provide." That said, I often start researching something in a temporary chat, only to realize the chatbot's answer is good enough to refer to later. Sadly, Gemini doesn't have an option to make such temporary chats permanent. In other words, I won't be able to follow up on it if I close the temporary chat. I'm left with alternatives like copying the answers into notes or another app. My digital life will get a lot better if Gemini gets a button to make temporary chats permanent. Collapse answers for a cleaner view You're heavily invested in your research game and suddenly feel the need to go up in the chat to recall something. This is when the conversation thread starts to feel like an overwhelming, unending wall of questions and answers. What if Google added a way to collapse Q&A pairs in the Gemini chat thread? It would look quite clean and easy to navigate. You'll quickly get an overview of everything you have discussed with the chatbot. Add buttons to jump between messages Suggested mockup of the feature. This reminds me of a small but useful Gemini feature that Google could add to its chatbot: the ability to hop between prompts in a conversation. Just add simple up- and down-arrow buttons, similar to YouTube Shorts, so people can quickly scroll through the messages. A table of contents or Chat Overview It's hard to get a bird's-eye view of everything you have discussed with the chatbot during a lengthy conversation. This is where a table of contents, or Chat Overview, displayed at the top of the screen, possibly in a drop-down button, might come in handy. You'll be able to get an overview of the chat and jump between messages, serving as an alternative to the up/down arrow buttons. Temporary mode for Gemini Live Image: Google You can use Gemini Live to have real-time conversations with the chatbot, which feels like you're talking to someone in the same room. However, a downside is that Gemini Live doesn't work in Temporary Chat mode, so all your conversations end up in the chat history. Google should consider expanding the temporary chat mode to include Gemini Live. Default to a specific chat One thing that feels somewhat annoying to me is that Gemini always opens in a new chat, whether on web or mobile. Sometimes, you want to return to your last chat. Google can take cues from web browsers, which let you choose whether you want to go to a new tab or a specific web page(s). Gemini can also have options to default to a specific chat when reopened. That said, generative AI chatbots have endless possibilities given the vagueness of their work. You can mold them the way you want by attaching different connectors, adding custom instructions, and including source files. It remains to be seen what Google has in store for future updates and whether anything from this wishlist gets the green light. The search giant released a stream of new Gemini updates in recent months, including Gemini 3.5 Flash and Gemini Omni Spark, adding that it now has 13 products with more than a billion users each. What do you want to see in the Gemini app? Tell us in the comments.
