Finally after tons of trial and errors i got 12.10 to work

Recommended Posts

the drivers for my card would not go past 1024x768 O_O 12.10 did some funky things with the linux headers and unity would not load so i have to google my butt oof and found a really good ( NEW guide ) on how to fix it. now before i would try to use a guide and i would get xserver errors about being ran blah blah .. so i got Pi**ED and ran back to windows . finally got fed up with windows and returned determined to make it work ..

simple put i did a lot of copy and pasting while a guy did the hard work lol :p

Yea I had a bunch of trouble making 12.10 work with my nVIDIA card as well. Still doesn't recognize that I'm using the nvidia driver...but it works, so I don't care. :p

May I recommend you try Kubuntu in the future? It's so much more polished (and prettier IMO) than unity. I've been meaning to post a setup guide/how to, but I've just been busy lately. Maybe I should get around to that...

i if every change i would consider it

You can install KDE for Ubuntu too iirc via Terminal ?

Yes. sudo apt-get install kde-full

If you're thinking about trying it, I'd highly recommend this tweak guide: http://www.simplepre...llation-tuning/

and If you have an ugly boot screen after drivers: http://news.softpedi...04-140810.shtml On KDE, replace the commands gksu with sudo and gedit with kate.

Guess I'd better start working on that guide.
