As you didn't mention any needs you seem to imply what people would choose for themselves actually.

It's way obvious what I chose even without the poll being public. :D

Although my next device I'll get will be some Android phone and after that likely a Macbook Pro. :)

Glassed Silver:ios

I can't really recommend you the Surface Pro or the Yoga as i've yet to try any of those. The only Windows 8 product i tried outside of my desktop is that Asus tablet. I liked it but RT sure is not a replacement for any laptop or notebook. I really feel like the perfect Windows 8 pro (good as a tablet and good as a laptop) product is not out yet and probably wont be before the end of 2013 or even 2014.

My recommendation would be wait for the end of 2013 to be sure to buy the best Windows 8 pro option out there. Something that can be a good tablet and a good laptop. That's what i'm gonna personally do. I might even wait for Windows 9 if this is coming in the first half of 2014. I think it's too soon to buy a Windows 8 pro product right now (outside of a computer or laptop running windows 8 pro of course).

If you are looking for something with productivity in mind don't be fooled by Office RT. RT is not for productivity. That asus RT tablet is really just a tablet with a keyboard. I like it but i would not work on it. If you need productivity and need it right now go for a laptop imo. Ultrabook, Ultrabook convertible, Macbook Air or Pro it's your call i can't help you on that. I'm not really sold on any convertible released so far but that's your call try them before buying. I doubt the Yoga makes a great tablet but i would need to try it to really know. I just feel like the keyboard will get in the way when you'll use it as a tablet. But it's better than nothing i guess ... personally i'm still waiting for a design i feel is perfect. Maybe i'll buy the Surface Pro. Or maybe a pro version of that Asus tablet. Or a windows 8 pro tansformer pad if asus eventually makes one. But i'll sure wait for all the cards to be on the table.

For phone i would go with Android no doubt specially if you like to customize things. iOS and WP are closed and while i love my iPod touch i would not replace my s3 with an iPhone or any WP.

Interesting choices

Mac Book Pro : Seeing how the other 2 devices you list are windows devices is this your first mac, or do you just want a laptop? Honestly take a look at the HP probook line of laptops they are MUCH cheaper and really nice laptops.

Surface Pro - I'm still not a fan of tablets. This is even after owning 4 of them (Nexus 7, iPad, HP Touch Pad and Acer w500 windows tablet with windows 8. Because of my line of work they are all deductable). I still choose a laptop. I know the surface has a keyboard cover and maybe it works great, I still like a laptop, I have a Windows 8 Pro tablet, meh.

Lenovo Yoga - I really like this idea for a laptop but I like the Dell duo's idea better, so it feels more like a tablet. This whole flip the screen and have the keyboard on your lap just sounds strange and how does the keyboard hold up? Only issue is the Dell Duo is 10 inches and this is 13.

What I would recommend is take a look at a HP probook and then buy an SSD and put it in. It's SUPER easy to get to the hard drive in a probook. Tablet wise if you really want one i'd recommend a nexus 7. Actually I sorta want an iPad mini but i'm waiting for a retina screen. for portability I think 7 inch is great for tablets. But out of all the tablets I have (4) I might use some of them 1 day a week.

Phones

This is a harder one. As someone who still has a feature phone and is on Verizon prepay may not be the best one to ask, but I do have a Verizon android phone which I don't use as a phone. I like it. Although I did have an iPod Touch 4th Gen (That got washed) and I LOVED LOVED LOVED that device other than the keyboard, I LOVE Swift key 3 on the android device (3rd party keyboard). After playing with my sisters iPad 4 the one thing that I think puts iOS Above Android in my opinion is Siri. I've used Google Now on my Nexus 7 but was more impressed with siri.

The ONE thing that impressed me the most about Siri was the Location reminders ( Google where the hell are they!!!??? Did Apple patent that ****?") . This is were you tell Siri "Remind me to do X when I arrive or when I leave". I would probably use that every day. The problem is, when that is enabled in the phone I heard it pings the **** out of your location, thus I think you get lower battery life. But over all I was more impressed with Siri than I was with Google now.

I'm also not sold on large Phablet devices (Phone tablets), while the iPhone is smaller, for a phone I do like smaller screens. I don't really like putting a 4.6 inch device in my pocket. That being said a larger screen does make thumb typing that much easier.

Those are just my thoughts.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
