Enjoy!

Looks like its another overnight download for me.

Wait.... There might be an issue with the EU version on the store. Have you read this?

http://gamingeverything.com/38979/ni-no-kuni-having-issues-on-european-psn-will-be-republished/

This was yesterday, so it might be fixed. But I haven't seen anything that says it is fixed....

Why would you buy a full game off of PSN? You miss out on the bonus DLC, better prices, etc...

Because there are no game stores in my town or the nearest town. I'd have to order off the internet, I wanted to play it sooner rather than later.

Just had a quick look, there is no bonus DLC with basic game?

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Downloaded 16Gb AGAIN, installed it and nothing shows up on my XMB, now I have to download a further 6Gb.

This is beyond a joke, I won't be buying overpriced games digitally again from PSN.

No bonus as such but there are two free familiars in the PSN Store for everyone to get, Draggle and Golden Hurley. I was tempted to pick up digitally, but had so much Game store credit I ended up buying the disc version. Bonus of digital would have been sharing the game with a friend though.

Really struggling with this game, I'm playing on easy and I find myself getting pasted constantly even from random encounters, I'm only a couple of hours in. Really beginning to wish I hadn't spent ?50 on it, I love the style and the story I just cant get my head round battles.

Takes a while but once it clicks I was fine (on normal). Starts to get easier once you have two humans in your party (not too far into the game).

Some battles are better done as Oliver and running around, as he casts from a distance. If you're using mite, you're doing a lot of melee fighting. Defending enemy special attacks is a must (gives you orbs as well). How far are you into the game? Some companions early on are actually better than mite, but of course you need to be able to tame them.

I would also recommend doing ALL sidequests early on, help you level, get equipment and get merit points.

I've not long opened up the boat travelling, absolutely loving the game. I'm now able to use all the functions as I've got alchemy now as well. It starts off slow, but now with my own familiars, three party members, the boat and alchemy, it's a blast.

I've just gone through Golden Forest and exited out the other side into the desert. I do defend special attacks but I seem to be going through a lot of heals, I don't see how its effective to fight as Oliver with magic when the MP replenishing stuff costs 200G a go.

I rely a fair bit on the orbs. One of the early merit rewards is for orbs to drop more frequently, I picked it after the ability to jump.

As you level up MP issues do lessen a bit.

Remember to feed mite treats, chocolate bars pump up damage.

Thanks, will give it another go. It's really frustrating.

Early game is a bit of a slog, once you get to the desert town and then get the ability to tame familiars it starts to open up.

Did a little research last night about a character in the game thought i would share

SPOILERS!!!

Cassiopea as a constellation has a lot of tie ins to the story of this game

The Brightest Star in the Constellation is Schedar

The symbolism of the constellation is The Seated Queen

and the Person it is named after was commonly referred to as the Vain Queen.

I found it to be very interesting and thought i would share

On to the final battle, got about 20 minutes in last night and realised I wasn't going to have enough mana drinks, oh well will try again tonight!

Great game and looking forward to completing all the side quests and taming for the platinum trophy once it's all over. Don't think i've ploughed so much time in to a game in such a small space of time since Uncharted 2.

Go to the casino and play the card game for lots of points then buy the potions with them. There's guides online how to win the card game quite easily.

Just made some Espressos through alchemy quickly and purchased a few others, sitting on about 250,000 guilders at the moment, main storyline finished

just finishing up the extra tasks/bounty hunts and then the other FINAL boss

then might look to get the 250 familiars and all the alchemy done for the Platinum.

I know this is an old topic, but there is no point making a new one. I finally got around ot getting this. I am about 5hrs in and I am enjoying it so far. It is the first time in a while I have sat down and actually played in a long stretch like that. It's usually a good sign.

Yeah, I had the same experience.

Its a fairly unique experience at least from the art style/atmosphere side of things. We don't get many games like that anymore.

If you are an JRPG fan this is the reason to buy a PS3 (although if you are a JRPG fan you should already have a PS3 really!). I know we had some blockbuster games in 2013 with GTA-V and The Last of Us but Ni no Kuni is without a doubt my game of the year.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • Carol, Windows XP is still being used today only in a small capacity. It is still the best OS there is due to its backwards compatibility with other older software, the customization features, and friendly UI, and people often feel that upgrading to newer OSes is cost prohibitive in specialized Industries or developing countries, so the market share as of now is around 0.2%-0.3%
    • If I could, I would commemorate it the best way possible: Replacing old machines that are still running Windows XP with something more modern, stable and better.     Noone and nothing should be running Windows XP in 2026.
    • Google's new hand-wave reCAPTCHA can be bypassed with a stock photo by Ivan Jenic Image: Screenshot Google is testing a new reCAPTCHA method that asks you to wave at your camera to prove you're human. So, besides solving puzzles and reading distorted text, you can now use your computer’s camera to pass the verification test. When the hand gesture verification is triggered, your browser asks for camera access and prompts you to perform a simple gesture, like a wave or an open palm. Google says it records a short video of the movement and uses AI to extract 21 hand-knuckle coordinates to complete the verification process. The video is then immediately deleted, and Google swears it doesn't keep it. The process alone can be uncomfortable for people who wouldn’t want their biometric data, which hand scans technically qualify as, recorded. But it gets even more nuanced, as early testers discovered that the new hand-waving reCAPTCHA can be passed with a simple stock image. A user on X tested the new challenge using a stock image of a hand fed through OBS Virtual Camera, and it passed. I wanted to verify it, so I tried the same thing. It took me a few tries and a few stock images, but in the end, I was also able to pass the test. I simply had to readjust the stock image of a generic person waving inside OBS, and Google’s mechanism registered it as a legitimate hand gesture. Once again, it didn’t even have to be a video or an AI-generated hand animation. Given the simplicity of the process, the entire action can be automated in minutes. All it takes is a simple Python script to render the new reCAPTCHA method obsolete. And it doesn’t even have to be an AI bot, which is usually used for solving puzzles and other verification methods. The new reCAPTCHA method is still in its early phase, and Google will, hopefully, update its AI to at least reject still images. However, this incident, combined with users’ initial skepticism about Google’s practices regarding user data, likely won’t make too many people wave at the camera anytime soon.
