Groupon Dishonest Retail Price on Nexus 7

Groupon Goods section is selling the Asus Nexus 7 for $189.99. But they are listing the saving as $70 off. Which would be somewhat true if it was 32GB version but it's the 16GB version. I'm trying to change the Retail Price to $199 because thats what Google Play store is listing it for. Can yo help me.

Are you the seller of this product, or do you own Groupon.com ? I don't think you are going to have much luck "changing" the price on the product if you don't have direct involvement in it's sale.

No I'm not the seller. I was going to buy it because it was $70 off but it's not at all. $10 at more and it's "Refurbished" which they said.

So don't buy it? Get a brand new one from play.google.com for $10 more.

I'm not saying to buy it, I'm trying to help people to not pay it because of the dishonest retail pricing.

It is very common practice to "up" the product price for Group On. Group On is an advertising partner I.e. for Group On they deliver cheap products but for the seller it is publicity and usually the deals have the vendor taking a loss to gain name recognition.

People try and get both worlds I.e. price high so when Group On takes the cut - they remain somewhat profitable.

I've seen similar, they were offering 70% off a nearly triple markup case for the Nexus 7and also available were re-furbs at normal RRP.

It's not really dishonest, the 16 and 32 both sell for the same price. while 199 is what it "usually" sells for, because of competition and marketing and campaigns, the actual RVP or whatever you call it is 260 or so.

and reality is, as I can tell you from experience, stores do not make ANY money when selling it at the 199 price, in reality wages and transport taken into considerations it's a loss sale.
