Games you can't remember the name of...

Recommended Posts

I had this problem for along time: there was a SNES titlethat I remember playing but only until just now found out the title of it (emulator here I come!). I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem?

This is the game I was trying to think of:

Perhaps Neo users could help you remember the title of your game if yo can describe it :)

Come to think of it, there was this tile based dungeon crawler type RPG although you did wonder on the surface plenty. The things that I vaguely remember is that the name had Scroll/s or Book in the title, possibly numbered or part of a series. It ran on DOS or Windows 98 and what I played was most likely a demo. I also remember killing giant ants and/or giant spiders (ed: and wizards and wolves). Ed2: Looked at some Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder and they of the same style.

Of the games that I lost and rediscovered later, these come to mind: Conquest of the New World, Lords of Magic, Nox, Silver and Neophyte (found by remembering the name Koplio, too bad it was never finished). And the one that I found completely by chance is Another World. I was reading GOG's announcement for the 2011 Screenshot Scavenger Hunt, which had a screenshot of this games unique visual style as and example.

Really? No one? I thought this was a pretty common thing. Perhaps it is just me who is forgetful :p

No, there was an NES game where you played as a family (and maybe their dog?) and you went down into a dungeon, and each family member had different abilities. It was a Metroid esque game, and for the longest time I could remember what the Hell it was called, mostly because it has the totally unrelated name "Legacy of the Wizard":

I'm embarrassed to admit that I played Contra as a kid on a NES, but only recently found out the title because the game I played was called Gryzor or Probotector or something else in the Oceania region.

I can never remember a commadoor 64 game, where you are a space man , you crash and you need to find oxygen from the other lander around the map. he shoots a spinning disk or boomerang by pressing the space button,

there is green weeds and floating squares that kill you.

I will love it if anyone remembers the game.

There is one game I have been looking for years. See if anyone can help.

It was on the amiga

it was all black and white

you were a prisoner in a jail. you had to time the escape from the cell as this robot flying thing would move only passed the cell at a set time and you then could move in to a room that was like a wine celler.

Thats all I can remember.

Yes there was a NES action game w/ rpg elements.

No "saves" you had to write down / enter code.

Cross between space battle (side scrolling but vertical) and exploring massive space ship (action).

It had venders in the ship I think you could purchase upgrades.

That sound like Guardian Legend.

Edit: Found a YouTube vid of it.

I remember this game where your an elf boy or something and you walk in to a cave and a man gives you a sword, you then have to go around collecting yellow triangles or something, and the enemies drop either hearts or money. Might have been for the NES?

Does any one remember a scene where theres you and someone else think it was a woman? the woman is in a lift/elevator and just as the lift starts to descend you get a message over comms telling you to kill her, you then have a split second to kill her before the lift lowers if you don't kill her I think you have to fight her later on? think it was on the playstation

Not sure if serious, or actually unaware of Zelda?

I'm surprised there aren't more companies re-releasing these old classic titles with updated graphics. I don't mean change the game but just the graphics. Much like what they did with the Super Mario All Stars. The games felt just like they did in their day yet updated graphically.

I borrowed the game from my uncle some time ago, but can't remember the name to save my life.

pc game, early 00's.

You are a macanic and your girlfriend is stolen by aliens. (No, it's not DNF)

You have a wrench at the beginning of the game, but later there's guns, etc.

    • Stop asking people that. It's a "No True Scotsman" argument in that you are attempting to discredit the opinions of a person by Attacking the Messenger. The reason that these are logical fallacies is the TRUTH is based on facts as supported by evidence. Nothing else. So, always debate the facts with evidence to reach the truth. Once you learn to do this, you'll be able to recognize when people are fearmongering and lying to you for their own selfish ends.
