Need to finish 2nd one so badly. Brilliant game. Really want to read the books now also.

The 37min gameplay video, is making me want this sooooo badly.

The sometimes highly confusing mission progression in the 2nd one kind of annoys me. Im probably just thick, but became rather stumped at several points as to what exactly was next, and so has another friend who`s played it also.

But the open world, pick and choose mission system of 3rd one looks much better overall.

I'll get it on GOG when it's going to be on sale there, just to support the developer a bit more (already own previous games both on Steam and GOG). But on release, I just don't want to bother with the downloads from GOG. I just want to pre-load the game on Steam and click play when available. Don't want to bother with any stupid installers that come in parts that you have to download manually.

Fair enough, although I don't get the "download manually" part since you can use their downloader.

Didn't even knew they had a downloader. But even if they do, it's still another one that you have to install on your computer extra.

And I don't want to do that, because I'm getting sick of them already (got uPlay, Desura, Steam, Origin and Glyph currently installed (and each with an account of its own that I need to remember)). Just want to keep main one and as I already own more than 350 games on Steam, I'd like it to be Steam.

 

Don't you worry though, I'll get Witcher 3 on GOG someday.

If it's like the Witcher 2 when you buy it from GoG you'll get a steam key as well.

You don't actually need to buy it again for yourself, since you can just redeem the steam key on GOG. You can however gift a copy to someone if you want to give them more financial support.

Huh, really? I remember that you get a key if you buy on Steam to activate on GOG, through the so-called GOG Backup system. Know this because this is exactly what I did, to give a friend the game. I never received a Steam key when I bought it on GOG.

Well thinking about it a little more when I bought it there was a sale. So I don't know if that's something that always happens or not.

Why do companies try to exploit every single god damn thing there is to exploit. God, I am 23 years old, but back in my days developers used to add new features in patches, and not market said features as free DLCs because they love their customers.

While yes it is a marketing gimmick you can be damn sure I'll be buying a game from a company that is giving all the dlc away for free over one who is going to charge $15-20 for a 1 hour mission that they literally cut out of their game.

 

I think it's good. If you look at The Witcher 2 Cd Projekt Red supported that game amazingly well. It's a company that deserves support more so than most other developers and publishers out there.

 

On the other hand I'm considering buying Dragon Age: Inquisition but I worry about parts being cut out of the game and sold to me later for substantial fees. And the game probably wont be supported for very long after it's released.

16 free dlc.     two out of 4 i know about is alternative outfit and different bread :rolleyes: other is the armor and one new mission

 

new mission is cool.   the rest are not worth anything and hardly add any value to the game

 

 

i love the witcher series, but this marketing is a bit over the top.   they are hardly an extra, like a mission. they are the stuff they wanted in a game and most like did not have time to finish, so they left it as downloadable content later.

 

 

new mission sure, but new beard??

I guess it is better than with the 2nd, when they used shady law firms in Germany to sue people for suspected piracy. They didn't care about proving guilt, but about settling for some quick $.

 

This stupid PR move doesn't surprise me at all, knowing how they and GOG operate.

Has the gave been finalized (gone gold) yet?  DLC looks like stuff that is done already and can just be in the game without calling it DLC the day after the game is released in February.

Shame on Cd Projekt Red for giving away dlcs.

 

God i'm sad cause now i wont be buying Witcher 3 since i can't withstand not paying for my horse armor.

 

Who cares if this is a marketing gimmick as long as you don't have to pay.

 

Anyway it's not like i care about dlcs anymore. 99.99% of the times dlc are not worth it so i chose to simply ignore them. As long as the bare game is fun enough to be worth the price asked it's all fine. The problem is when the bare game is lacking content and then they ask you money for dlcs.

 

I'm sure Witcher 3 will be worth the money i paid for it.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company is planning to increase the prices of some of its products due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook confirmed the looming price hikes for Apple’s future products, adding that “Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable.” He also said the company is doing its best to “mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.” The Apple CEO also noted that the allocation of a large portion of memory chips to AI companies has contributed to shortages in the market, resulting in lower supply at a time when demand for devices remains high. “We definitely need memory pricing and supply to return to reasonable levels for consumer products. That’s the bottom line,” Cook said. Cook also added that Apple is ready to use its vast cash reserves to help boost supply in the market because additional production capacity is needed. While he declined to specify how Apple plans to do that, he said the company will not build its own memory and storage factories despite its financial resources and silicon expertise.
