Can a home cinema package subwoofer be connected to a PC?

e.g. this one: http://www.ebay.co.u...y-/150989415861

I currently use motherboard audio (pink, green, blue jacks) for my 2.0 speakers.

I want to somehow add a subwoofer.

My motherboard also has a HDMI port, and so does my video card - maybe audio can be routed through one of those if the jacks won't cut it?

wire the hdmi from PC (your PCI-e card) into the HDMI slot BD/DVD and fit an HDMI cable from TV/AV on it to your TV and whala anything played via HDCP to the TV will come out of the sub and speakers (of tv if no satellites are fitted).

You will lose your analogue sound though as windows will change to hdmi output for audio (or you may have to select HDMI output in playback devices, right click speaker icon in taskbar).

The sub will have a passive crossover that filters anything above 90/120hz probs to either satts or the tv, leaving the bass frequencies to drive the sub cone.

No, you don't understand.

I have one PC, and one subwoofer (originally for a home theater system). I want the bass from my music to come through the subwoofer.

Not sure about the one in the link, but in order for that to work, you'd need either an optical out on the PC > Sub / Surround, or a sub with an amp that had an analogue input that you could wire to the Sub Out on your PC audio jacks, then set windows audio to 2.1 or 4.1/5.1 to enable the sub audio jack

    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
