Intel Max temp on a P4 is 70C and for a 875/865 northbridge is 99C. If it was anywhere close to 100C the cpu would have caved...I couldnt push past 3.5ghz on my stock HSF.

Some P4s can do 3.6, i've seen them go as high as 4.4 ghz. But that involves extreme cooling measures; he tried to do it on air, which isn't very smart.
