A free to download, free to play online ARPG created by an independent dev. It takes it's inspiration mostly from Diablo 2's gameplay, Final Fantasy 10's skill tree, and Final Fantasy 7's materia system.

It's an amazing combination that makes for a FUN game. It's skill and item depth far outperform the best efforts of Diablo 3. (I have 500+ hours logged of D3.)

Play hardcore. If/when you die, you roll into softcore.

Terrible support, ive been reading through their forums for help with the "Checking Resources" being stuck (mine has been running for 12 hours) and no answer and no attention from any of the developing team.

I WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PIECE OF CRAP TO ANYONE UNTIL THEY RESOLVE THEIR STUPID ISSUE.

Dont even try to come at me with my computer, my computers are all NOT cheap.

And yes I tried this on two different computers. My internet is the fastest you can get for DSL here, 40/20

And I even tried the tips from 10+ topics on how to get this working....

Freaking terrible cant address an issue thats been going on for 1+ year... Horrible and I will let it be known across the web.

1. Run as administrator

2. If that fails delete content.gpk and re download. One of these shall fix it.

Been playing since Auqust, only seen/heard of this issues less times than I have fingers and the above two solutions worked.

Just to add another site. Exilepro (http://http://www.exilepro.com/) is where some of the betters players are listing and writing guides of various proven and tested builds. It's also (hopefully) going to become the go to for theory crafting

Currently taking a break, after losing a high level HC character and the next two I leveled I gotta sit back and just chill.

The game play is okay I guess but the aesthetics of the game are uninspiring at best. Everything looks bland and uninteresting.

I bought the game for 5$ or something like that to do the whole beta test and such, I never had this issue, mind you I only played it a couple times, then got into the d3 beta and that was that.

However, I don't think making a scene on here will do you much good, especially as on here you are the only one with issues.

The website I listed wasn't for your technical problems. It was aimed at the entire thread in terms of various builds and theory crafting. Sorry for that confusion. :(

I found a few threads on the forums about checking resources where staff posted. Several threads where others helped each other out (which I can find also at Diablo3 Forums, WoW Forums, The Old Republic forums etc.)

To sum up everything I could find out, deleting content.gpk works 99% of the time. Yes you have to re download but it appears to always work. Ensuring you run as administrator helps, defraging the HD game is installed on helps. Opening the launcher letting it sit for 5-15 mins at checking resources then closing and re-opening has helped other users. You could delete content.gpk and instead of using launcher to re download just grab it off Piratebay (or any torrent site) and use that.

Other than that I got nothing for you. Best I can say is to document everything you did and let the developers know. The game is in Open beta and this would be considered an issue Open beta is used to discover.

In regards to D3. Game plays more much like a successor to D2 then D3 every has/can be, The massive skill tree opens up such a huge variety of builds that it's kinda of ridiculous all the stuff you can manage.

They are supporting the game very well. Constantly adding new stuff. I think a dev said every patch they will be adding new Unique's and at least 1 new skill for every patch. Constantly evolving and supporting the game.

Have they made the armor aesthetics look any better recently? The biggest turn off for me in this game was that all the high end armor looks literally no different than the low end stuff.

Maybe this is shallow and looks aren't everything, but in some cases, they are. It just doesn't convey a sense of progression to me. You get more powerful you should look more and more badass.

I play hardcore. I enjoy the leveling, skill, and itemization systems, as well as, the community, and the pvp.

Idk what you mean about "the terrible selling/buying system", I find the currency orbs to be ingenious and undeniably superior to any gold system.

The game has a D2 feel to it. I encourage loot ninjas and I've lost a few uniques to it, no big deal, I've gained a few as well. I really enjoy the global and trade chats. I chatted with a developer for about 2 hours Monday. To my pleasant surprise, he was honest and direct. He provided all the info he could, with none of the cliche' PR BS generic answers.

I love the way you can hop in and out of parties seamlessly in order to advance in questing or lvl/farm. I've MADE FRIENDS! We play on TeamSpeak together and coordinate our builds around each other. This is a great deal of fun for me and a big difference from anything I experienced in the 600+ hours I wasted trying to convince myself that Diablo 3 could be any good.

It has a corner feel to it. By that, I mean it's not popular, and it's not mainstream. Especially in the HC modes. HC merciless (highest difficulty) can bring a lot of excitement and suspense. It doesn't try to be something it's not. It focuses on gameplay, although for an independent 1st time developer, it looks gorgeous (and gothic/dark!) It's one of the best communities I've ever seen on a PC game.

I have very little complaints, and it's not even 1.0 yet...

By "terrible buying and selling system", I was talking about the trade chat. You need to spamm it to buy/sell stuff. And when you got five pages of storage space that you want to sell or looking for something spesific that you can't link in chat, it's incredibly tiresome.

I just checked the game back and I'm level 68 (Started him on hardcore, buy died on level 40 something as of a result of another big game issue: desyncing). My two handed marauder can solo everything on merciless without dying even in large parties. Now past level 60 when you already has all the skill points in the right spots and you're pretty much only use the rest to increase something that can be increased using the items (health, strength and etc.) and you can kill everything without a problem... what exactly is the point in leveling up?

Not really. Game that have limited leveling system got content to back it up. This one doesn't (number of quests is very limited) and rely too much on the pretty much the unlimited skill tree to keep people playing. But like I said earlier, it doesn't really makes that much of diffrance for your character when you hit the "sweet spot", which makes you pretty much invincible with all the life steals and regeneration orbs from yourself and your party members. And it's not that I don't like it. I'm just trying to understand why you like it, with the public beta releasing... what, like half a year ago without any added content since?

What? The public beta (aka open beta) launched a little over 2 months ago. And they added the entire 3rd act into the game when they went into open beta. So, added content?

So the game plays like D2, couldn't care less really, I like the D3 gameplay as much as any another hack and slash play(ARPG is a stupid name, there is no RPG in these games).

What's important, how is the story and storytelling compared to D1-3.

I would play these games for the story, not to repeat endlessly the same dungeon over and over and over to get a level and get the loot I need that you need to play the same area 10 times to get.

Played the start of this until I got into the town or whatever. Dunno, graphics where pretty bland, the effects where good. But the main problem. It did nothing to. Draw me into the game. The style was bland, the story was... Well nothing, the storytelling to draw me in... Equally nothing.

The only reason one would have to play this is if you. Actually enjoy eternal grinding with no purpose other than the next level and more gear...
