Hi, I'm 18 and seem to be balding mostly at the top-back bit of my head. I already suffer with anxiety/low confidence issues. I believe my balding may be male pattern baldness (MPB).

I heard the NHS won't prescribe any treatment and I also can't afford to buy any treatment. Is there any home remedies for this?

From today I'm going to start eating 5 fruit/veg a day, get to bed by 12 every night, exercise everyday and eat more healthily.

Please help.

Check with your doctor, it may also be stress induced or other illnesses.

but even if it is MPB, so what, let it go, shave it off. don't try to cover it up with medication that don't work or implants or

but even if it is MPB, so what, let it go, shave it off. don't try to cover it up...

I completely agree with this. Baldness isn't something to be ashamed of. If I started to notice that I was going bald I'd just shave it all and be proud!

I had a friend at university who was already starting to go grey. Instead of running for the hair dye, he chose to embrace it and rock the look, and it worked. He was seeing more women than I could count those days.

Typically no, whoever discovers a cure for baldness will become and overnight billionaire I'm sure. The worst thing you can do is try cover it up. I have many friends who have started losing their hair early and the best way to deal with it is the embrace it and go with a shorter hairstyle. Don't let it affect your self esteem, it's likely a result of you having fairly high testosterone levels, in which case you're just more of a man than the rest of us!!! :D

Yeah man I'm rocking the greys and I'm only 26! I'm the brunt of some "just for men" jokes but tbh they're jealous of my "silver fox" persona! Or so I tell myself!

Since it's a cosmetic thing, the NHS will normally won't pay out unless there's a health concern (breast reductions, for example, can relieve back strain). There are various "treatments" that you can buy, although to be honest it's normally just money down the drain.

How "bald" are you going at the back? I know the my crown is fairly bald, but I wouldn't consider myself "balding" to any extent. It's not really big enough to be considered a bald patch, I do have that to come though, since it runs in my family :'(.

I do tend to lose a lot of hair when I'm stressed. On a bad week at work, I can simply brush my hair and you can see the stuff falling out, but I'm not overly concerned, since if it ever gets to a point where I start to look stupid, I'll shave it off.

My question to you is: Have you actually asked anyone if they think you're going bald? If you have and they say you aren't, you don't have a problem, you're just overly concerned.

If you are really going bald, I'd say you've got two options: (1) Grow it longer, and see if the bald patch hides itself (I have very short hair, so any bald patches I have appear worse than they are), or (2) Shave it off and embrace the Walter White look.

Personally I would go with shave it all off, I never found anything that helped me when I started to go. My bald patch, funnily, was the side of my head, above my right temple, I shaved it all off saying if I was going to go bald it's going to be on my terms, no combover, no toupee.

Might have to do with environment. If you live in a city center, all the smog can really be bad for your hair unless you wash it daily. Also, the water you're consuming and bathing with, it it contains too many salts or minerals. Herbs can encourage hair growth. Look for a shampoo with Amla, Ritha, Ginseng and Henna. Applying coconut oil also prevents hair fall. And get regular haircuts to ensure growth of new healthy hair.

My theory? Those who bald are further along on the evolutionary scale. What is hair anyway for a man? A nuisance!!

Seriously, if it is happening, not much you can do about it. As others have said, embrace it. You will look more silly if you do not at the end of the day.

Go and see a specialist. There are many causes of premature baldness, and the treatment you use will depend on the cause.

As it happens, someone I know is currently marketing a new, stem-cell derived, peptide based hair treatment. She will be bringing it to the UK, hopefully later this year.

I would start to rock the shaved head look so everyone you know gets used to it,because theres no way to stop your baldness or make it grow back. you can use rogain, some will new hair will grow, but once you stop,it will all fall out. the only thing you can do is get a hair transplant when a lot of your hair falls out.

they actually have this way to do transplants where they don't have to cut out a huge section from your scalp to get the hair, instead they can take out hair by hair with a special tool and plant it elsewhere. its more expensive, but its worth it,especially if you don't need too too much hair.

Does it run in your family? I believe its the mothers side you need to look at.

As far as being bald goes, I started to lose my hair in my mid 20s. Bothered me at first but now it doesnt. I just cut it really short and it looks good. Dont have to buy a comb ever again and a few other products. So if going blad and its not a medical issue like stress, then I would just accept it and not let it bother it. Its a little cooler in the winter, but its bearable. :)

I used to try and keep it long but that only worked and looked good for a while. Do yourself a favor, no comb over looks like Mr. Trump and no cheap fixes either. Accept it, or pay a ton to get it professionally fixed.

    • If they don't sell enough of the 1st gen then there won't be a 2nd gen
    • Epic fail, should've added an eSata port on the back, also if the memory/NVME are soldered then they're hardly gonna sell any, first thing most people do with their Steamdeck is, or used to be, replacing the NVME with a 2TB one.
