Audi R8 V10 Plus stripped down to its heart

Priced in UK from 124,675 GBP

Audi has released a new promotional clip with the R8 V10 Plus showing the 5.2-liter FSI engine.

The video presents the range-topping R8 accelerating at full throttle and unleashing the 550 HP (404 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. It takes the car from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 197 mph (317 km/h). The car is fitted with a seven-speed S Tronic gearbox which is optionally available for the V8-powered models.

Audi teamed up with YouTube and the Blippar application so users can view the clip by pointing their smartphone at poster or print advertisements with the car, "instantly bringing 2D photographs to life" thanks to the augmented-reality technology.

Meh, I once used to be a fan of the R8 (when it first came out), but with all the high powered supercars and other German cars - MB AMG's/BMW M's, this is just yet another high-powered car. I feel a car of this stature needs 600-650+ hp stock. 550hp just rivals the M5/63 AMG's. I mean look at the '14 E63 AMG 550hp/531 lb-ft torque (or 577hp/590 lb-ft torque for the S model), and that's heavier with similar 0-60 (C&D says 0-60 in 3.3s!), granted it's too early to tell about the new E63's overall track performance

      I am British, but still not offended, I really don't care. It is a shame that countries are run by the people that run them, that can't get on with other countries. Religion and greed is a lot of the problem. What we could do if we got together instead of fighting each other. But that is not the way it is, so because of that, we really need to show the world what the U.K can do. We have some very clever people in this country, sadly the government don't seem to do anything with them.
