Was just going to ask the same.. I am kinda interested in playing a card game on the iPad/iPhone now..  I see their is Gamelofts version with Order & Chaos Duels, and I see a Magic 2013 and 2014? Whats the difference? Is 2014 the update? If so why didn't they take down 2013 when it went up? I am lost?

I really enjoyed Magic 2013 and Magic 2014 on iPad.  Probably best just to get Magic 2014.  Its fun but if you have never played Magic before there is a bit of a learning curve even beyond what the tutorials provide.

Uhg, I need to get rid of all my old Magic cards to make way for some new ones.

I've been waiting for this to come out, and thought it was going to have an open beta. I guess right now it's closed (not sure if they're going to have an open beta) and I'm pretty ok with that. If anyone has a spare key I would definitely take it up, but SMELTN asked first. :)

I got 2 beta keys in my email this week (one of them probably by accident).

First - damn this game is addictive!  It has some complexity like magic but the games are quick and varied.  Each hero has their own special cards which means they all play differently and share a lot of strengths and weaknesses from their respective classes in WoW.  On top of that, each class has a unique ability that's always available and costs 2 mana.  Mage is fireball, warrior adds 2 armor, priest is a heal, and so on.

If you can get over the hurdle of dropping some money initially to buy some packs then you'll have a really fun time.  It feels very much at though the original WoW devs are on it.  It's well tuned, a lot of fun, and it's not a simple x+1>x game that WoW is now.

So, the game was released yesterday! It was a surprise, totally did not expect this!

Another amazing piece of news is that the beta profiles have been carried over to the live version! I had been sure before that all the progress made in the beta would have been wiped.

There are three things I love about this game:

1) The Graphics - Blizzard have once again proven that they are the masters of it. My favourite part is the cards. Somehow the magicians at Blizzard have managed to create a very realistic 3D effect. All the pictures on the cards have "a volume". It looks as if they've been engraved on your screen. I almost wanted to touch my monitor when I run the game for the first time! My most favourite ones are Druid's Power of the Wild and Shaman's Fire Totem cards. However, this effect is only visible at 2560x1440 resolution and I assume higher up. It's barely noticeable at 1920x1200.

2) The Gameplay - the mechanics have been superbly done. The game is quite balanced. And they even managed to create (or save) the same kind of dynamics as seen in 1v1 PVP battles in WoW.

3) The Humour - I love reading comments on the back of the cards. Here are a few examples which I have memorized already by now: 1) Sacrificial pact. Destroy a demon. Restore 5 health to your hero. This is the reason that demons never really become friends with warlocks   2) Holy fire. Often followed by holy smokes. 3) Secretkeeper. She promises not to tell anyone about that thing you did last night with that one person.  :D

Played since BETA and im in total agreement.

I am glad to see the game has finally be released. I have been playing off and on since the beginning of the beta. I still completely suck at the game which is odd being that I went to Regionals for Magic the Gathering 6 years in a row back in the early '00s. nice to see there are far more people playing now.

Found that once I started using a custom built deck I started winning far more matches. At 2wins to 1loss, compared to 2loss` to 1win.

Im probably worse than you by a country mile.

But here`s my Real ID thingy.

It's s fun game and a great idea but the Mage has been OP for many months now...

It pretty much ruins the Arena as you encounter a Mage in half your battles.

I've played enough that I can't really bring myself to play constructed, I only do Arena runs.

Overall, it's a fantastic casual game. The quest design provides motivation for a daily log on.

I'm sure it's popularity will rise immensely once it's available on tablets and phones.

Idk if its the genre or this game, but its too heavily RNG based.  Dont have as much control over the flow of the game as the random number generator does.  Lots of cards that just break things to, like that one that destroys all but 1 unit.

You've got a 30 card deck and from there a lot of choices can be made by mentally evaluating the odds. I don't find it to be any more different than any game where the roll of a die or the flip of a coin is used.

So I'd chuck it up the the genre, RNG is just another randomization system. Although, I am surprised at how often I either directly win or lose based on "top decking."

Just doing the intro campaign or whatever, so I'm guessing I haven't seen much of how the game works yet since this seems to be the only thing I'm allowed to do until I finish.

but one really annoying thing. Int fullscreen, it insist on always being on top and not being possible to minimize, which is really annoying, especially on multiple monitors. cause if there's something under you want to move to a monitor this game hasn't hijacked, you have to close the game, or run it in silly windowed mode.

The intro campaign is alright. The true challenge begins when you start to play your first missions.

I lost like the first twenty games I played because the progression curve is rather slow, it takes a while to unlock all the classes and basic cards. Obviously, a basic deck is hardly winnable.

However, once you past this stage, the true fun will begin!

Yes, I hate it too. It's only become an issue recently in the live version. In the beta, you could minimize the window. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon because all the other Blizzard's games behave in a normal way.

Thanks to the game for some stupid reason defaulting to America after installed, I now have to redo the last half of the intro campaign on the euro server(where I started playing on the other computer first, before installing on the laptop wondering why I had to start over), several training matches and some more games and unlocks... Meh.

The mage got nerfed quite a while ago, its definitely not a top spec class like the Druid or Shaman.

I recently discovered Hearthstone and I really like it. However, in multiplayer I lose EVERY single match. Is there a guide somewhere to help? I always seem to get my opponent's health way down then he's about to hit me like 6 times in a row and I'm dead.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • The fact that memory in general is so high I have to take a loan out to build a computer now is just beyond stupid. Who's really to blame here? Low supply or high demand?
    • Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 18.1.5.5 by Razvan Serea Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a utility for completely removing AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL graphics drivers and related packages from your system, attempting to eliminate all leftovers (including registry entries, folders and files, driver store). Though AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL drivers can usually be removed via the Windows Control Panel, this uninstaller tool was created for situations where standard uninstall fails, or when you need to fully remove NVIDIA or ATI graphics card drivers. After using this driver cleaner, your system will behave as though it’s the first time you’re installing a new driver—similar to a fresh Windows installation. As with all such tools, we recommend creating a restore point beforehand, allowing you to undo changes if issues arise. If you're having trouble installing an older or newer driver, try it—there are reports that it resolves such problems. Recommended usage: The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best. Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe). It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues. You do NOT need to uninstall the driver prior using DDU. Requirements: .NET Framework 4.8 Compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 (32-bit or 64-bit) Note: Using on Insider Preview builds is at your own risk. WACUP 1.99.51.24568 Preview changelog: Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when doing some of the drag + drop actions within the media library window Fixed a loading crash seen related to a problem with some of the artwork cache image files being restored which should now be better handled allowing for the bad image to be removed without it failing Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when the internal metadata cache clearing is triggered which could block the main ui thread for too long with this now being moved to a background thread Fixed some performance issues with some of the methods related to determining artwork support which mainly affected the local library import / refresh (this is still slower for some compared to other players because there's more data & artwork aspects being checked for which means doing more processing on a single file despite the best of attempts to reduce duplicate / heavy processing where possible) Fixed a crash with the JTFE based missing files hotkey which no one seems to have used for an age for this to appear (maybe it's time to seriously consider stripping out features that aren't being used) Fixed how some of the file types which use extra information to reference their sub-songs is handled which was preventing some from being correctly resolved back to their base file (noticed fixing above) Fixed an issue with the handling of files with underscores in their filepath which wasn't being correctly handled causing some of the filename to be lost when shown as the title if title reading is delayed Fixed a few things that might be behind NotSoDirect not being stable for some setups though am still not certain that the changes done for this are going to fully resolve the problem from the crash reports Fixed the OS toast handling when there's no prior shortcut in the OS start menu to now create the shortcut (needed to allow the yes/no buttons for the new build / post-release toast) to be done as a hidden one so it's less likely to cause annoyance for those not wanting to see it whilst still allowing this less than ideal OS api implementation requirement to be met to avoid toasts without the needed buttons Fixed a regression when moving from taglib1 to taglib2 which broke some of the handling in place to allow for external programs to still access files when wacup has a held open cached instance of the file Everything else Updated cppwinrt (gen_win10shell.dll) to 3.0.260520.1 (26 May 2026) Updated libcurl (libcurl.dll) to 8.2.1 (24 Jun 2026) Updated Monkey's Audio (in_ape.dll) to 13.15 (28 Jun 2026) Updated mpg123 (mpg123.dll) to 1.33.6 (6 Jun 2026) Updated OpenSSL (libcurl.dll) to 3.5.7 (9 Jun 2026) Updated pugixml to 1.16 (16 Jun 2026) Updated taglib (tag2.dll) to 2.3.0 (11 May 2026) Updated vgmstream (in_vgmstream.dll) to the latest Git commit from 28 Jun 2026 Download: WACUP 64-bit | 9.6 MB (Freeware) Download: WACUP 32-bit View: WACUP Website | Screenshots Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
