Installer for Y'z Toolbar

Recommended Posts

Your re-distributing his software, aswell as editing it. I think you need to ask permission.

I'm not editing it. I added one theme to the themes folder. I did not edit any file (the DLL, the EXE, the two .LANG files, or anything).

Edit:

Copyright/Reproduction

? ? The author (M.Yamaguchi) owns the full copyright to Y'z ToolBar.

? ? I choose to allow the use, reproduction, and distribution of this software

? ? in a free manner, but only under the assumption that the contents of this

? ? archive are not changed or altered in any way, and it's contents are intact.

? ? (for any sort of reproduction please notify me fHowever, any user can freely change and distribute any created toolbar theme in

? ? an archive.n archive.

? ? The author assumes no responsibility, or gives any sort of guarantees for

? ? damages that may occur from using this software.

It says the contents cannot be changed, however it has an exception saying you can bundle toolbar themes without permission.

It's no different than say AutoPatcher or something like that, right?

AutoPatcher is a (great) program that installs zillions of Windows patches as well as a bunch of registry tweaks, PowerToys, and more. This is a setup program for Y'z Toolbar and only Y'z Toolbar.

Ask permission my ass!!!!

Do what you want with it. Are the police gonna come running around to your house. NO! Rubbish.

There is no copyrights on these things

Don't be stupid. The Y'z Toolbar program itself is considered intellectual property of the creator.

@memodude: I'm using your installer. :)

Yep. Actually, everything you create inherently is "copyright"ed (unless you make it public domain). Registering a copyright just lets you sue people about it. Also, if someone infringes on your registered copyright, you still have to pay for your lawyer and all.

Nice. :)

Comments in bold. :D

Just wondering, how many people are using my installer? :)

I can't really see a use for it to be honest. I just unzip, bang it in a directory and shortcut to startup. It's not exactly a big program is it.

Using an installer would feel a bit like using an Uzi to swat a fly. (Not that it wouldn't be fun to try for a day!)
