Okay, the November Update has been released, so it's time to start thinking of what we can put in the December Update!

I'll start you off:

1. I'm adding MSN Plus! (I got approval)

2. I'm adding the Flash Player

So let's hear your suggestions. :)

Please note, this is for suggestions only, everything else should still be posted in the main thread. :D

Great thread.

One suggestion, make sure the MSN PLUS crappy spyware is not installed.

Don't worry... it won't be. :) Good suggestions so far. As time goes on I'll compile a list of what I've chosen. :D So don't be afraid to suggest, the worst that can happen is it's not included. ;)

What would you like as far as an Updated Autorun?

When you autorun starts it flashes and then appears slowly how about it just opens with no special effect same thing when exiting, also the tezt looks abit blurred so a bit more clearer, and finally whne the users click View read me it opens the text file in notepad why dont you display that in the while square on the right hand side and th autorun icon can be changed to the one flishfun uses :D

sorry if i sound picky and tedious just giving it more pro look

FLISHFUN: About bout providing AutoPatcher XP on CD at a small fee to cover postage and the cost of a CD?

I think Flish and Raptop are trying to keep this strictly pre-sp1 updates with a few extras to maximize the operating system's usability (directx 9.0b, java updates, flash player, etc.)

Since everyone's preferences are different when it comes to software like Spybot, and Winamp, they want to let everyone make their own decisions with those (otherwise I would've suggested Winamp5 b2 first :p) I prefer Ad-Aware over Spybot for my anti-spyware jobs, but that's just my personal preference.

If they included every variation like that to keep the public happy, you'd need DVD's to distribute this awesome package.

I dunno...just my 2 cents....maybe Flish has changed his mind...we'll see :)

I haven't really changed my mind... but I'd like to know your suggestions... I'll start a list on the first post with what has been suggested and whether I'll install it or not. I mean, for example, myie2_user suggested:

1. Spybot: Search and Destroy 1.2 or 1.3 Beta 4 (beta is found here )

2. Macromedia Flash and Shockwave

3. Winamp 5 Beta 2 lol

4. and of course the latest MyIE2 browser

To that I'd reply:

1. Must look into it

2. Yes

3. No

4. No

So of those, he gets 1 maybe, 2 no's, and 1 yes. That's how this will work. :) Don't get crazy and say stuff like "Office" or anything, but seriously... what things do you install on your PC's (freeware only, please)? I'll see what you say and make my decision. :)

startup control panel and startup control monitor..

mainly becuase after i install windows xp, service pak1 and now the autopatcherxp :) i am quick to install the startup control monitor and startup control panel from

http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml and http://www.mlin.net/StartupMonitor.shtml

especially on other peoples machines, where they have everyprogram in the world open and take 45 minutes to bootup. and 100's of icons next to the systray.. and then they wonder why their athlon 3200xp with 1 gig of ram , still slow as crap :)

please include these :)

Are you saying Messenger Plus! from Patchou? (www.msgplus.net).

also :) why msn plus? or msn at all? then you'll have to add icq, yahoo, etc.. instead how bout trillian ? www.trillian.cc or miranda? the all 4 instant messengers in one programs.. that way you only add 1-2 megs i think .. instead of 4 seperate programs with bloatware..etc..

just thoughts.

trillain .74 is free.

I dont think Flishfun should include Trillian or those sort of programs into it. If you want Trillian, I would suggest you get it yourself in their homepage (www.trillian.cc). SOmebody would like to have the pro version, so...if you include it in the Autopatcher...do you want flish fun to pay for the pro? :)

it would be neat if it could detect already installed components, and uncheck them (or grey them out). but like an option to detect, so people who are starting from a clean install can skip it and just load it all up ;p.

200% agree on that. But, I dont think that will be easy to do though

no what i'm saying is dont include 5 seperate im programs. just 1 that works with all, and trillian has a free fully functional version. but anyhow, take out the msn plus, msn messenger 6.1beta, msn 4.7 ..msn 5.. they just tie themselves into msoutlook, internetexplore, and stuff and its tricky to shut em off or delete em. plus if you've ever tried to remote assist with them, they dont work unless both users have same version.. msn just plain sux. probably why people use aim.

Anyways, i'm just sayin either leave out the im's or just add the all in one prog.

I'll second Bant's suggestion. Also, the fading effect for the autorun exe is overkill, fading for the splash is fine but for the entire autorun window IMO shouldn't happen, especially if people are running from a clean install with the vgasafe driver running (a stricly hardware-acceleration free failsafe driver that runs if Windows can't find a driver for the video card) as it would probably end up making the effect veeeery sluggish.

Also, it would be nice if all the batch files got put into their own directory rather than being present in the root directory of AutopatcherXP. It would make it a bit cleaner IMO.

Yup...That's really true :D . I dont think the fading effect is such an important thing, even though it's nice to have one there.

Nice suggestions you got there :)

    • VS Code 1.123 introduces massive upgrades for persistent AI developer workflows by Paul Hill Microsoft has just released Visual Studio Code 1.123 alongside its annual developer conference, Build 2026. This release, as always, has a heavy focus on advanced AI agent integration and making the built-in browser more robust. Notably, this update brings big sync changes that keep your AI agents persistent across sessions. With this update, VS Code now supports cross-machine syncing for chat histories, touched files, repository contexts, and related PRs via GitHub accounts, tying users even more into Microsoft’s developer ecosystem. This update also introduces the new /chronicle command that allows you to query past sessions using natural language, generate instant standup reports, and get personal productivity insights. Microsoft has also made some improvements to network-dependent operations, it explains: “When a terminal command that is run by a local agent requires access to domains that are not configured as allowed domains, the command is automatically retried inside the sandbox with unrestricted network access. After that, if it still fails, it falls back to unsandboxed execution. This allows network-dependent operations such as git fetch to finish, while keeping filesystem protections in place.” Microsoft has not stopped there; in this update, it also allows developers to drag, drop, and pin multiple agent sessions side-by-side for easy code comparisons in real-time. It also introduces the Research Agent, accessible via /research. This is a read-only, depth-optimized tool that gets data from the web, local codebase, and GitHub to give you a Markdown report on complex APIs or unfamiliar code. Now, let’s talk about the integrated browser and some security enhancements. VS Code 1.123 features enhanced screenshot capture tools that allow for targeted Area Screenshots and Full Page Screenshots to send layout context instantly to AI chat. The address bar has also been revamped, supporting favorite pages and tab management. Finally, on the security front, this update introduces a safety-first two-hour delay on third-party extension auto-updates to safeguard against compromised or buggy releases. This release is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. If you have VS Code, keep an eye out for the update availability notification. If you still don’t have VS Code, you can get it here.
    • I'm hoping with the Surface Pro 12, I can use either USB-C for my Xreal One Pro glasses. With my Surface Pro 11 OLED X Elite, I have to plug them into the top port. The bottom port will power it, but nothing shows on the screen. Maybe it's my setting. When I plug in the glasses, I have it output only to the glasses. So maybe I need to turn on both displays with it in the top port, then switch the glasses to the bottom port and set it to output only to the glasses. And then hopefully Windows remembers the settings for either the top port and bottom port (one of the awesome features of Windows where it remembers the exact configuration when plugging in external monitors.
    • Forgive my ignorance, but the only difference I see here is that a USB-A is now a USB-C, so there are two of them. For the modern age (and I'd argue since 2020), most products would now come with USB-C as an option, if not the default. Display, charging, devices, etc on TWO connectors, sometimes all combined! So having 2 of those powerful ports is great for something this size! Meanwhile my Surface Pro (5) has a single USB-A port which I cannot even get display out to, instead relying on some Surface Connect dock which I don't have. That is a poor experience, not to mention expensive and not compatible with other devices. Thank God USB-C is mainstream!
    • wow. that color finally comes to Surface Pro. was always a little jelly when a friend had the sandstone Surface Laptop. I wonder how different this dune is from the sandstone. I'll be getting the dune version. always thought black and platinum were a little boring. I'll still have access to my blue Surface Pro 11 as it'll be a hand-me-down.
    • Looks a very subjective aren't they!? I like its simple design. I love the way Apple designs their products with function over form, minimalization, and simplicity over cluttered complex designs. Many, not all, of their products follow this trend, and the device becomes a tool rather than dominating the space. I do not however like their OS. I have never bought a Apple product, and while I'd consider the Neo for my wife, I am hoping there are better alternatives out there when her failing MacBook Pro 2017 finally stops. Fischer-Price is famously plastic, garish, and poorly made. Basically you're describing the Window Laptops the Neo competes against! This is how product design should be, and what Apple have often followed in recent years: https://tenprinciples.design/
