Still amazes me when I see how many people keep their SSID default telling everyone who their ISP is and what hardware they have. Ist about time ISPs started to make the install include a wizard to change the SSID and set a new default password. Sure some will forget their password but give them full a clear warnings (not small print type) and something to record it on.

Yep ..especially when their ISP is frontier and frontier secures everyone's Wi-Fi with their telephone number. If they don't use their ISP name they mostly use their last name, which makes it really easy to look up their phone number.

They don't want to do that because it would be a tech support nightmare. Which is why I think frontier is dumb enough to use people's phone numbers.

I can't be bothered to change my Wi-Fi router name as my provider can push a software / firmware update that resets the Wi-Fi name. It's happened before and it will happen again. It's a standard FTTH_xxxxxx name

Meh. Sad tears

    • Tor Browser 15.0.17 by Razvan Serea Protect your privacy. Defend yourself against network surveillance and traffic analysis. Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody from watching your Internet connection and learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked. The Tor Browser Bundle lets you use Tor on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained.
