HBO picks up 'Silicon Valley' to series

Wasn't too bad, would have preferred Marrtin Starr to play the main perhaps.  Might just be they've written the main character to be a bit too stereotyped.

i was thinking the same thing. The main character was way too "gosh, im so shy, gee whiz" for me.

i'll give it a go, though - few more eps to see how it unfolds.

I don't mind it. I hope the main character becomes less of a overly-dramatised nervous wreck. So far it seems to be using very tried and true plot mechanics to drive it, which will make the show decent but, in my opinion, boring. I'll keep watching it though to give it some more time to build up a foundation.

That last episode was 'meh' at best. I just can't believe any of the characters at all, no one in real life acts like any of them. I have no issues with a comedy over doing a specific character type but this show is (seemingly) trying to take itself a bit seriously and it's falling flat. I heard someone earlier say an 'Entourage' vibe and I'm definitely getting that but Entourage just does it much better. Entourage takes you on a journey to feel like they feel.... which I feel like this show is just not doing.

I'll give it one more episode because I love the potential.

This may well be my new favourite comedy.

The geek factor resonates with me, and although the main character is forgettable I like the rest.  Peter Gregory is hilariously awkward and eccentric.  Gilfoil and Dinesh are an amusing combo, Fatso McNeckbeard is hilariously egocentric too.  Add hot girl to the mix and you have  winner.

Isn't it so strange that sometimes the very reasons you hate something is the exact same reasons someone else loves it. Interesting.

The "mean jerk time" scene was hilarious.

Disappointed it was only an 8 episode season!

The payoff was just hilarious in that scene, especially for such a long joke! Really looking forward to the next season now.

Sad fact: The guy who played Peter Gregory hasn't been back in the show because he died during the filming of this season.

"Optimal Tip-to-Tip Efficiency"

Personally I thought episode 8 was the best of the season.

However, the telehuman was the funniest moment of the whole season. Audio worked a hundred #####ing years ago.
