Question on Windows Defender in Windows 8 Pro 64bt

Hi All

Question on Windows Defender, saw on a site that Windows Defender/MSE is baseline protection only now, read on another forum a while back--that if using Internet explorer use another Antivirus, so then I switched to Avast free 8.0.1489, but that possibly messes with Sleep mode in Windows 8 Pro 64bit, one day I set it for Monitor sleep in 10 minutes, PC to sleep in 45 minutes, come back next morning and PC is wide awake...did send in a support ticket with Avast as well, but haven't heard nothing yet

What I typically do on this PC is Game, listen to music, (streaming audio usually, or one of my bought albums, hardly get any music illegally anymore--as I learned that is not right to do)

Guess im mainly looking for if Windows Defender/MSE safe to use still or should I stick with Avast for all machines

Windows Defender/MSE works great on Windows 8 :)

yeah I heard that, and I just may go ahead and restart using it in a few here...
