I decided I would replace my laptop with an ultrabook this year, but I was going to wait until 'the next big chipset' which has a performance/value benefit over what's on the market now. The problem is I haven't been paying attention to hardware news since the Q6600 (desktop) was released, so I'm really clueless as to what's come out, and what's coming out...

Will there be a big difference maker chipset released sometime this year? How is it better than what's available now?

In June, Intel is planning to launch Haswell processor. Which will set new bar for ultrabook.

How it is better:

Just 5-10% gain on performance side but on power consumption side there is huge difference and also on Integrated GPU side which will be roughly I can guess 30% faster than old Ivy Bridge generation.
